Best TV Openings

I ran across a Twilight Zone marathon on SciFi this weekend. That jogged my memory to nominate Twilight Zone and Outer Limits for this list based on unique narrative and opening music.

I second an earlier poster's nomination of The Prisoner. I have never seen any other show opening quite like it. The opening music is really unique and fits in perfectly with the opening video.

I read an article about this the other day. This TV theme expert said that all the shows used to have themes that set the mood of the show and had lyrics that gave you a hint of what the show would be about. It said the last one that met these criteria and was really successful was Friends.

I remember the opening to "Love American Style" being pretty cool.
I also loved Tom Chapins song to open "Make A Wish"

The List (though, not necessarily in order):

1. Magnum P.I.
2. Dallas
3. CHiPs
4. Ironside
