Airwolf

What more could you want or need? It's got Jan-Michael Vincent playing a cello in a canoe, a big boss man that sports an eyepatch, Ernest Borgnine hauling *** and explosions.

I win.

And as buffsoldier pointed out, A Team rocks hard as well.

If you include the answering machine message, Rockford Files jumps to #1.

And who could forget Cheers?

First thing that came to mind was "The Rifleman". When I was in a church band we used to sneak in the "Simon and Simon" theme in during the greeting time. Not ONCE did someone come up to us and tell us they noticed it. hah.

I can't stand the 'Enterprise' opening. It's mainly the song that I can't stand.

But I do love the Stargate SG1 opening. Especially if you sing the song that the Deluise kids thought of:

"StarGate!!
It's a great big whirl,
With a great big swirl and you step inside to another world!

We're talkin StarGate!
It's a crazy trip
You can go quite far and you don't need a car or even a ship!

There's Colonel O'Neill,
and Carter and Daniel and Teal'c

Look out
For that
Goo goo goo goo goo goo goo goa'uld!"

Awesome

I like Cheers and Simon & Simon, but Mission Impossible is really a classic.

Any Mike Post opening is pure gold - there were so many.

The old NFL themesong from the Sunday game of the week back in the 60's. I can still hum it and remember 1 commercial. The Western Oil Company??
"If you don't have a an oil well get one"!

The Simpsons opening has always been good. They change up what Bart writes on the blackboard, and they trick up the Simpsons all running into the living room.

Not sure if they started doing that on day one, but there have been some funny ones.

I really like the Enterprise opening. Not every Star Trek series has to have some grand instrumental opening.

I fear that TiVO has made the television theme song a thing of the past.
