Best sports bars in Austin?

you're situation notwithstanding, Third Base has an excellent tv setup

Not a big fan of 3rd base, either. I haven't been there in a year since my last experience with the TVs was unpleasant as well: NCAA tournament and everyone wanted to watch the UT game. Our group was in front of a TV showing the Indiana game so we asked them to change it. They said they couldn't because some group in the back of the bar wanted to watch the Indiana game and the TVs were tied together. Their system couldn't separate the two TVs.

Get a real TV setup where each TV can be tuned independently then I'll go back.

Yes it might be an average sports bar, but name one other sports bar in Austin that's better than 3rd base? Austin is lacking sports bars and thats the closest thing IMO to a good sports bar in Austin.

I frequent that place often to watch games that aren't in the market in Austin. Food may not be good but I get to watch the games I want to there.

It used to be Ringers but, of course, that is now closed.

In light of that, there are NO good sports bar in the vicinity of downtown Austin. It is a damn shame such a great city is lacking in sports bars......
