Best intro ever?

Notice I put a question mark?
Texas Football X (formerly known as Twitter)account used the word ever as a declaration.

The daughter of some of our best friends is getting married next month. Her affianced is Asian, and his name is Phat.

I got in trouble for referring to him as Pretty hot and tasty. And I didn't make it better by protesting that she must see him that way, or she wouldn't be marrying him. At that point I wised up and stopped digging the hole deeper.

So glad you posted this, and I agree….without the question mark. This intro was the best ever. Nothing since has been close.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

For generations of us, it is the last tangible evidence of the Memorial Stadium that we grew uo with. The horseshoe, the historic arches leading under the stadium and longhorn centered over the main entrance above the gates with the University Seal. Of course the addition of the "Strike A Pose" Ricky and Earl was a wonderful bit of artistic license. But perhaps most importantly, is the context of the timing in the early Mack years, Longhorn Football was suddenly a social event, a place to see and be seen. Creating a frenzy at the box office and an already established road following that doubled in size.

Soon this will be part of a bygone era, Personally I love the "Phat Beat", maybe it was timing, what it did to the crowd, what it did to opponents, I don't know. But I know at the time we were winning a crap load of ball games, that were seldom close. And it's one last vestige of the Memorial Stadium I grew up with.

That said........'GIMMME A PHAT BEAT"!
