Best BBQ Sauce

Does anyone else laugh when they see that at the store? The only thing funnier is that it sells VERY well.
 
If you have the time and don't mind ordering sauce, the best that we have found is Big Bob's sauce from Huntsville, Al. They have a championship sauce (that has won Memphis in May too many years to count) that is a little tangy and they also have a habanero sauce that is outstanding. Put it on anything. They make a white sauce that is very good on chicken as well.

My other favorite is Corky's BBQ in Memphis. This is definitely sweet, but I could practically drink straight from the bottle.

Rudy's is my favorite Texas sauce, but we have to make do with what we can find in the grocery stores in NC and Stubb's is definitely high on my list.

Hmm, bbq for lunch sounds really good now.
 
if you want a bbq sauce that makes you drink it right out of the bottle while you're cooking, 4 words:

When I don't make the sauce from scratch, I doctor up Stubbs original
to use for basting. Just pour however much stubbs sauce in a pan, add finely chopped onions, canola oil, balsamic vinegar, and a little water to thin out the mixture. Heat to soften the onions, then baste.

Continue to heat whatever is left over after basting. This will
thicken the sauce back to eating consistency.

Fresh lemon juice can be substituted for the basalmic vinegar.

This is a tangy acidic BBQ sauce.
 
I brought back a bottle of Arthur Bryant's Sweet Hot from my Nebraska/KC trip. It is outstanding. I mean, crazy good.

Locally, I'm down with Salt Lick habenero.
 
I agree with tatertot---Big Bob's is probably the best sauce I have ever had. (www.bigbobgibson.com)

They started in 'Bama but are branching out. I don't expect they will go West though since they are mostly pork and ribs but we have them out here in Carolina. Being from Texas, I like to think I have the right to be a sauce snob and this stuff is the real deal.

They also have helluva good rubs---used them on my ribs and chicken recently and while it's not the best for brisket, they do a better job than anything I have had access to from Texas for pork/chicken.
