OU's demands are reasonable. Beebe has got to go. If conference realignment was a baseball game, he'd be the losing pitcher. Not broadcasting high school games/highlights or Big 12 games on the LHN is also reasonable (I figured the LHN would only broadcast the likes of the Rice game anyway).
Equal revenue sharing within the main Big 12 TV contract also isn't that big of a deal. We're not hurting for the cash and it won't kill us to share more with the rest of the conference. We still have our own separate Longhorn Network deal with ESPN anyway.

So bascially what you are saying is that just to make OU feel like a big man, Texas should refuse to broadcast on the LHN even those conference games that are not going to be carried by ABC or Fox?
I am sure that will make the smaller schools very happy, as they would lose a potential revenue source in the from of appearance fees. But hey at least OU feels good!

Sure. It's a compromise, and we're not really losing anything anyway if the LHN doesn't broadcast Big 12 games. Given the big TV deals the Big 12 signed last summer, I doubt ESPN or Fox would consistently willingly allow a Texas conference game to slip through the cracks to the LHN.
It also sets a precedent for future school networks in the Big 12: if OU is still trying to create its own network, it will have to play by the same rules and with the same restrictions as the Longhorn Network.
I'm all for limiting programming and access on LHN. I'm NOT for sharing any revenue generated by the network.
Until ESPN folds their hand, there's absolutely no reason to redistribute our 3rd tier rights to schools who have no allegiance to us. Once the network fails (which seems imminent, given the lack of carriers), then I'm all for meeting in a conference room and hammering out a plan for sharing the 3rd tier between every conference member, including KSU's web-based service.
I'm all-aboard on firing Beebe. OU can have that. And the new commish should immediately look to expand back to 12 teams by poaching 3 from MWC or the Big East.
I agree that Beebe's got to go - Hell, the conference is about to lose it's 3rd member under his watch. That's a no brainer and if it helps ou save face - I'm fine with that. I am also ok with not showing HS football games. But LHN money is not to be shared, and the big 12 can't dicate what we show beyond that. We are talking about 3rd tier rights - which by definition means that if no other network wants to televise the (for example) UT Kansas game, it falls to the third tier and LHN can pick it up. Does ou expect us not to show the game at all?
The AD meetings are coming up next week. There's no way Beebe makes it through those unscathed.
I think we get an interim lawyer-type guy to take the reins until the Spring sports season is over, and then some fresh blood to reinvigorate the new conference by adding someone to replace A&M immediately (most likely BYU) and keep our AQ status.
1st and 2nd Tiers will be shared equally x10; 3rd Tier should remain the sole property of the school that sells it, HOWEVER, the other 9 members should be able to unanimously disapprove of the 3rd Tier deals. ESPN messed up by having no details of the contract when the conference was fine with the LHN. There's no way OU votes against us in that scenario, because they would like to sell their own 3rd Tier too. If they go with a "we don't have it so no one else can" attitude, then they have to deal with the repercussions of Texas voting their future deals down.
