Baylor's Robert Griffin

If this guy stays healthy, he will be Baylor's best quarterback ever. He reminds me a lot of Dennis Dixon. He makes good decisions and has a strong arm.

Oh, and he has near-Olympic speed.

He was good last night, very good. But I was shccked at just how bad Washington State was. I didn't expect to see Baylor smack a pac 10 team around, even if its the worst pac 10 team.

Guy Morriss didn't recruit him and when told that Griffin was interested in Baylor because of the world class track program he told Griffin that he would be welcome to walkon.................

Griffin only goes to BU after commiting to Houston and then following Briles to Waco.

Guy Morriss = *** Clown.

Pete,
I'm aware of his reasons for not coming here. I still wish we had him. Having athletes like him on the roster is never a bad thing.

Agreed.

Good head on his shoulders, and he is determined to win. Not sure he can change the culture at Baylor, but more power to him.

I'm pretty sure he finished 7th in his high-school class. He hasn't played (well) against top talent yet, but he has a ton of potential.

aggy should have hired Briles.

He's better at everything than Chiles. There's no comparison.

He has the ability to singlehandedly create an identity for Baylor football.

I think that is 4 passing TD's, with zero INT's on the season...also 4 rushing TD's, and a 2-1 record. Not bad for a freshman at Baylor.

Aight for all you Griffin nuthuggers I'll be watching him for the first time tonight on the road against a decent Uconn team to see whether he's the real deal or not. Sorry but I could run for 100 yards against Wash St. Let's see if he's for real then I'll give him props.

I have known Robert for a few years. He is definitely the real deal, but that doesn't mean he will lead Baylor from the basement of the conference this year. His attitude is very positive, and he has caught lightning in a bottle right now.

What he does tonight is largely irrelevant. What he does when OU and we hit him in the mouth wil tell the tale. Rob is a better athlete than even most of our players, and he has played in some important games(2 state championships), but he has never had to bear nearly as much of his team's burden as he is right now.

FWIW, I think they'll win tonight.

I believe in Art Briles, he took at terrible U of H team (0 for whatever the year before he took over) and made it into a great team. I think from his team he had 4 players taken in the first day. So I think the coaching is there. I too saw Griffin play and WOW this youngster is electric. They also have a pretty highly rated WR. They are going to be better then expected. I can't wait to see the game tonight. I hope Chiles is watching too!

What he is doing as a freshman QB regardless of competition is pretty noteworthy. QBs who play at that level coming right out of high school typically develop into All-Conference players at least, and it's certainly not unusual to hit even bigger milestones. Big pick-up for Baylor, there's good reason for them to be optimistic- we'll see if the rookie can keep it up

Yet another QB to take note of in the Big XII this year.

here's their remaining schedule...
10/04 No. 2 Oklahoma TBA
10/11 Iowa State TBA
10/18 @ Oklahoma State TBA
10/25 @ Nebraska TBA
11/01 No. 5 Missouri TBA
11/08 @ No. 7 Texas TBA
11/15 Texas A&M TBA
11/29 @ No. 11 Texas Tech TBA

As long as it's not the Horns, I'd like to see them get some wins in that group. Aggie has to go to Waco late in the year after Griffin gains more experience. Should be interesting.
