Couple of turnovers. First was due to Johnson going up with a taller defender closing, then losing the passing angle he had. Second was a bounce pass to Johnson who couldn't handle it. He might need a breather. He's done a lot so far this half.
Second time a Texas guard has tried to make a layup with some space to the rim and second time it's been swatted away. If you can't dunk or use your body to shield Baylor away, that won't work. They're too long.
Turnovers, crappy shots, and a missed foul to close the half down 8. Texas had played pretty well offensively (except for the turnovers) until the last couple of minutes. Defense has left way too many openings underneath.
Frustrating ending to the first half. How do the officials go for the flop against Chapman then they completely blow the foul when Brown is shooting the 3.
I can't stand Baylor fans. They boo at everything and act like they are god's gift to basketball.
I hope the Horns go on a roll and play the 2nd half like they did the last 10 mins against OU Monday night.
We can't beat teams with good guards because of turnovers. 13 may be ok for a game, but a half? My kingdom for a point guard. We better find one next year or we'll see a repeat of this year minus the quick start.
I missed the first half but TOs is the first column I looked at in the box score when I saw we were down 8.
We also miss a big that can step out and make a jumper. It would help a lot to unclog the middle if we had a power forward or center that could make a 15-17 footer. Johnson is ok at that mid-range shot, but he's really a small forward playing bigger.
Baylor is just packing the middle and closing out on the 3s. Pretty simple defense, but we have nothing to combat it. Either a big that can pull them out, or a point guard that can beat their man off the dribble. We don't have either.
