BATTING - Good Coaching leads to 109 Homeruns and the Big 12 POY

When DC was at 35 games, he was tied for the all time Big 12 hitting streak. Now, Dylan Campbell stands alone as the all-time Big 12 hitting streak record holder.

We’ve had some really good outfielders over the years, but I think Dylan Campbell is squarely within our Top 10 Outfielders of all time. He was very good last year too. He’s the complete package.

Bats for average—check
Bats for power—check
Steals bases—check
Really good range in the field—check
Makes lots of highlight reel plays—check

For purposes of the streak, it's a bummer that he was intentionally walked his last at bat. The situation called for it, though. He can start a new one tomorrow!

Well, unfortunately he's now the Bill Buckner of UT baseball. Hopefully he can win a ship and erase that BS play. next year.

While it was technically his ball there were three guys trying to find it. People will be talking about that play as a really unfortunate way to lose, but only you and maybe a select few will specifically say it was his fault.

And because of his persona one of those will be him. I feel so bad for the kid because you know that with his competitive spirit he blames himself. He’s done too much and devoted too much of himself to take any blame on this. I would say no one except Daley saw that ball. Lousy ball park.

A big reason Texas was even playing in the bottom of the 9th yesterday was due to DC - say tying the game in the 8th. Hard to blame him for losing. EK also couldn't find the ball in the air.

DC was literally breaking down in tears walking off the field. I feel bad for him too.

From a selfish standpoint, I'd love it if DC comes back next year. Realistically, the MLB is going to be all over his combination of power hitting, batting for average, outfield fielding skills (including his cannon for an arm), and speed on the bases. I'm thinking he goes in the early rounds.
