Barrett Confirmation Hearing

Ha. Shows you how well Barnett did in the hearings, and how well Graham managed it.

And credit to Trump for his pick. Ultimately it was his choice, and Barnet was a good one. Trump should get a lots of credit too for sticking with Kaughan during the height of the rubbish against him. No way a Bush or Romeny would have stood up like that. They would have folded up and withidrawn the nomination.

Hewitt loves all Catholics on the bench, of course
Still, I think he is correct here except the types of cases I cited above (ACB tends to knee-jerk in favor of Big Govt)

I mean, it's not the most horrible position I've ever heard.

She can say she things the position should not be filled now. But since it's going to be, and her choice is either vote for this candidate or vote against her, she's voting for her as she's so good.

I guess it's like saying you don't want to have the group order pizza, but since they are, you want meat lovers.

Best part of the tweets is the hate coming from the impotent leftist. What happened to Love Trumps Hate, or whatever that loser line was from 2016?

The leftists have no one but themselves to blame for looking down the barrel of a 5-4 conservative majority (the Coward John Roberts will turn totality leftist now that his vote doesn't matter, and he can be who he wants to be - the toast of the DC crowd. Maybe now he won't have to wear diapers as he won't wet himself with sadness and shame at every Bezos Bulletin article that talks about him).

If they hadn't foolishly filibustered Gorscuh, that would still be an option, and it's unlikely I think that even the Apex Predator would both nuke that and put Barette on such a quick path to confirmation.

If they hadn't acted like children with Kagurah, and then ginned up some obviously fake story of a high school feel up, they wound't have lost 4 sitting senators to 4 incoming Republicans, all of whom are solid R votes.

Now all they can do is stompy feet. I wonder if they'll even show up for the vote, or try to avoid it and say there's not a quorum.

Confirmation, not nomination to be exact, but close enough to hear the wailing of the leftist from here.

When's the confirmation vote today?

And I would donate every dollar I owned, to the charity of their choice, if Barrett, Kaughan, and Merrick Garland, god rest his soul, organized a skit at her swearing-in ceremony tonight, where, ala Kayne and Taylor, Kaughan comes running out and says that Merrick should be the one receiving the award tonight.

Final vote happening now.

What a disaster by the Democrats. All that talk about WWIII to fill the seat opened when Ginsburg finally died. Was more like the invasion of Grenada.

Should be 52-48.

stunning win for the Republicans. When I heard the news what 5 weeks ago, I thought it would just be a good issue to drive Republican turn out. I really didn’t think they would be able to get the seat filled before the election.

But filled it was. Great job by all - Trump with the pick. Mitch for setting things up and lining up the votes such that the outcome was not in doubt. Graham for the hearings, and Barrett herself for how well she did. Didn’t think I’d see it in my lifetime. A 5-4 conservative majority.

I’d care more if her vote mattered for the outcome. A no vote helps her in her race so that’s fine. She came through when it mattered on Kau.

I was waiting for the Dems to pull some kind of bizarre maneuver - or homoeuver.
But nothing. Cool.

I'm almost tired of Trump winning. We'll see if it continues next week. Regardless of that outcome, he has totally wiped his azz with the Libs (hopefully they used shea butter body wash).

Nope. They had shot their bolts in the Gorscuh and Kau hearings. Nothing left in the magazine except that flag that comes out of the end of the barrel with Bang written on it.

Interesting fact: if Bork had been confirmed instead of Kennedy, and he’d died at the same age, Obama would have gotten to replace him with a leftist, leaving a 5-4 leftist majority from 2013 until right now. Yuck.

All over but the leftist crying, and ridiculous dreams of expanding the court by 2 or 4 or 58 or whatever number they come up with.
