Texas produces outstanding basketball talent.
To a point, it's safe to say that a state as big as Texas can provide players like Julius Randle and whoever else to Division I teams. I don't think anyone would argue against that.
But on a numbers level, the amount of kids from Texas HS's who succeed and/or help their teams get to the highest stages of the NCAA postseason tournament pales in comparison to the percentage of kids from other states who have more virulent basketball hotbeds, such as the Carolinas, Ohio/PA/MD, and NY/NJ.
