Texas produces outstanding basketball talent.

To a point, it's safe to say that a state as big as Texas can provide players like Julius Randle and whoever else to Division I teams. I don't think anyone would argue against that.

But on a numbers level, the amount of kids from Texas HS's who succeed and/or help their teams get to the highest stages of the NCAA postseason tournament pales in comparison to the percentage of kids from other states who have more virulent basketball hotbeds, such as the Carolinas, Ohio/PA/MD, and NY/NJ.

Except five of the top 50 players in the country in the 2015 class are from Texas and three are committed to aggy while none are coming to Texas. If that's not the best then its scary how good basketball could be.

I'm not questioning those kids' skills, US Men's soccer has some of the world's best too. My hunch is that the best athletes in this state play football.

You downgraded the talent in Texas and I'm saying there's plenty of in state talent for a national championship quality team. Theres no comparison to US soccer vs the world.

I agree. Duke and N. Carolina both start freshmen from Texas. Duke is still playing, Carolina almost is. Their Fresmen are VERY good.
