The more appropriate comparison, IMHO, between Rick and Mack on this thread's subject is POY awards.

Mack has coached Ricky to a Stiffarm.

Rick has coached TJ to a Naismith, Kevin to a Naismith and Wooden, and DJ to a Wooden, 3 players under Rick who were national POYs.

So, yeah, he is not out of order to stand up for a colleague regarding POY awards.

i'm really developing a lot of respect for rick barnes. he understands in ways the clowns downtown will never get it. i wish the people of austin would dry up the resources for the statesman. it has outlived its value. really, all newspapers have, but the statesman seems to have a death wish.

yeah, tower, that really is a stupid statement. like rick shouldn't concern himself with the overall ut experience.

you know, i had never accepted barnes as a longhorn before reading about this incident. i always felt like we kind of had him on loan. his response over colt's mistreatment has just made him a for-real longhorn in my eyes.
