BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA II - OUR PRESIDENT

I find the state of the nation a bit "uphauling". I think it's fairly clear that a majority of people choose to vote simply based on entitlements, race, and opinions of their favorite pop star. Further taxation of the rich will not come close to solving the deficit problem. Entitlements will likely increase as opposed to decrease and the US looks to be on the path of Venezuela......

The energy industry ironically is the only significant possibility for growth (the same industry that the WH is trying to regulate into the ground). I'm fairly certain that the industry is at least partially responsible for his re-election - they added tons of jobs over the last four years in spite of the WH's best efforts.......

The next 4 years are likely to be a stalemate for the most part.......

I wonder if the supporter/posters on here, who I give credit to for being more informed than the average BO voter really think we as a country can continue to expand government and that it is ok to spend our great grandchildren's( we have moved way past children and grandchildren) money

but Hey! at least y'all made Putin happy.

Mr D?
I will NOT go away just as I won't call anyone who disagrees with me a jackass or wish their children to die.

Obama is not what America wants.
Obama is what some people in certain counties in a few states wants.
------------------------------------------------
Translation - Obama is not what you want.

He won 60% of the electoral votes, the popular vote, and the most states. I think that he is what America wants. He won fair and square. Accept the fact.

"The next 4 years are likely to be a stalemate for the most part......."

Not if the GOP wants to win in 2016. They should attempt to avoid the stalemate at all costs.

If we see the same old same old from the right parts of Congress with Tea Partiers scaring the moderate right into submission, or the Senate retards with their "nanny nanny boo boo you don't have 60 votes" nonsense, then we'll continue down the 50-50 path for another 4 years and the GOP can hope for another candidate as semi-viable as Romney (but only if the far right allows it) in yet another close election cycle.

But if they take their panties out of a wad, accept the fact that normal people don't support candidates like Akin or Mourdock, and stop going to the right of Mussolini during primary season, they'll be more likeable, and thus more electable.

This means that we'll have 4 years of no dramatic tax cuts (GASP!), accepting that many people in many states (even red ones) prefer the social liberal side of the aisle, and that 1950s America isn't the American Dream any longer. Tune out the Huckabees, Dick Morrises, and Chick-Fil-A parties for a little while and see if people are willing to take a gamble on someone like Rubio or Christie in 4 years.

?
let me ask again
Do you supporters realy think we can continue to expand goivernment and keep borrowing?

Fiscal imbalance cannot continue forever, but if you think Mitt Romney's plan would have worked you would be in for four years of disappointment 6721. The Democrats don't have a good plan either, but it's not like we had a candidate step up and say "Look, this is going to take massive sacrifice from All Americans. We can't pay the taxes we pay now and have the entitlements to which you have all become accustomed. Here is what I want YOU to do ..."
Nope, Romney was promising massive tax cuts, more defense spending, maintenance of the social safety net, continued investment in educations and job training all while unfettering business interests who showed in the first decade of this century that that they would cheerfully risk cratering the economy Tuesday for some big bonues today.

They have to generate a huge amount of additional revenue from somewhere. I'm assuming that most of the people on the board are educated enought to know that increased taxes from the rich will barely make a dent in the annual deficit.

I said it before - the energy industry is the country's biggest hope at this point. Embracing it will generate more jobs and a significant push towards widespread use of natural gas will benefit the country significantly. Just my opinion ofc - we will see over the next couple of years - other sectors will likely shift more jobs overseas as Obamacare and additional taxation phase in......

If the Prez is wanting the Republicans to work with him. He can start by actually cutting spending in REAL DOLLARS. For the math challenged left out there, that means spending less than you did the year before...or...if you spent 101 dollars last year spend 100 or few dollars this year. THAT IS A SPENDING CUT!

ignoring the partisan crap ans the whinning. good post Wash. we need our Congress to work together now. those that felt the 2010 midterms were going to be repeated and that would justify their belief that that the American people were looking for change have been proven wrong. Congress now needs to work together in order to work for the people.
