Bama - ND

I get so depressed watching Bama thinking what could have been... And now seeing the huge difference in talent we are so far off from sniffing a NC game.

ND can score some points on this Bama defense but Bama will score 50 plus so even if ND puts up 35-38 they will still lose by double figures.

Chop,

Watch the blocking scheme on Bama's second TD. Hard to tell if the right guard was trapping or pulling, but he picked up two blitzing defenders. Bama's OL also seems to be able to recognize and pick up stunts.

Both seem to be novel concepts.

This is Bama's best team to date. Not as good defensively as what we faced in 2010, but that O is unbelievable. A guy like Waddle blows a knee and it doesn't hurt them at all. Best RB, TE, WR and one of the top QBs. Throw in one of the best OLines's and it's just ridiculous how good this team is. National recruiting has let the genie out of the box and college football may never be the same. We had one of the greatest teams ever in 05, but we weren't this good. Our receivers weren't even close. We might have been better at QB and safety and that's about it. OLine and TE might be a push. We had a good DLine, but linebackers were not that good. Corners ok, not great. Bama just looks great across the board.

Yep. Bama has a very good OL. Year after year after year. It sets up everything they do.

Didn't see the first half, but from listening to sports talk radio and then reading this thread, I'd have guessed the halftime score was like 31-0.

The most impressive thing about Bama to me is how absolutely solid their tackling is.
The first guy to contact the ball carrier brings him down. Almost every time.

I was counting commercials. After the new tv contracts come in a few years they will have to sell even more. The games are at least thirty minutes longer because of them.

What's the deal with Ian Book?

He was a 3 star recruit according to Rivals.

He's a 4 year starter for Notre Dame.

My question is why? He's been mediocre all 4 years. Can't Notre Dame find guys better than a 3 star mediocre dude?

I knew ND recruiting was not as good as it used to be but hell they should be able to do better than Ian Book.

Time for a Rose Bowl fun fact: my grandfather saw the 1942 Rose Bowl at Wallace Wade stadium on Duke campus. My brother still has the game ticket (passed down from my dad). My grandfather had season tickets for Duke, UNC, and NCSU.

Bama runs on third and 8 and of course gets first down because when you have that OL and those receivers as decoys you have a ton of plays to choose from.
