Bama fires baseball coach after suspicious betting activity......

Only in the SEC can a HC be fired for possibly betting on games, but a football referee gets a reprimand and continues officiating.

In this case, it appears HC was coordinating with big bettors to bet on LSU...the team AL was playing.

How does a head coach NOT know the impact of betting while coaching? And to bet against your own team reeks of the baseball equivalent of shaving points. I suspect this was run line or O/U betting as opposed to money line betting.

mb,

We had one and A&M had one in football. Not a fun thought that one of your football coaches with huge responsibility is betting on the games he's coaching. Deloss did a masterful job of keeping that hushed up and getting someone to find and "promote" another criticism to run the guy off.
