On another site (and here) I saw the link to the reference to B12 teams as potato chips. I came up with the following comparison of the B12 teams as beers:
Baylor - Michelob. Carries a "premium" price-tag, but really isn't very good.
Texas Tech - Miller Chill. Flashy and new-fangled, but really just a gimmick. Previously they were Bud Ice. And before that, they were Miller Clear.
Texas A&M - Coors Extra Gold. Was very popular for a brief time back in the 80s, but now nobody knows what happened to them.
Oklahoma State - Natty Light. Not particularly good, but cheap and will accomplish exactly what you want, as long as what you want is to get drunk cheaply.
Nebraska - Shiner Bock. Great tasting beer in the 80s and early 90s until they got bought out and cheapened their ingredients. Now they still sell very well, but the quality just isn't the same as it used to be.
Colorado - Fat Tire. The first one tastes pretty good, but you get sick of it quickly.
Kansas - Merlot. "Wait 'til wine season!"
Missouri - Cabernet. "We hate Merlot! Wine Country Border War!!!!!"
Iowa State - Miller Lite. Common, pretty inoffensive, and forgettable.
Kansas State - Milwaukee's Best. Nobody likes this stuff, nobody will admit to buying this stuff, and yet you see it everywhere.
Oklahoma - Budweiser. Omni-present and popular. Millions buy it so it must be good, right? No, actually it sucks.
Texas - Arrogant Bastard Ale. Dramatic and delicious a lot of the time, but the quality is inconsistent and it loses competitions to inferior beers regularly.
Now, your turn...
