Unbelievable

I am very happy I got to witness it thru the miracles of these internets. I just really didn't fathom how addictive this performance was...just inning after inning, batter after batter. Congratulations to Austin, his coaches, and his teammates for a game for the ages.

Hook'em!!!

even more impressive, if you think about, he pitched, over two consecutive nights, almost two complete games without allowing a run

And don't forget the pressure. If in any one of 10+ innings he gives up a run, it is game over.

At least for the BC pitchers, they always had one last chance.

Mr. Wood, what a magnificent performance. As a pitcher's father, I applaud you on becoming a legend in your own time. I have never seen anyone else do what you did last night. Proud to be a part of this historical performance as we all are.

Awe-inspiring performance by Austin Wood, which has to rank highly among the most memorable athletic performances ever by great Longhorn players over the years.
This relief appearance will be discussed by fans for years to come, long after other details of this regional are forgotten.
A legend was born Saturday night, and I am happy to say I was there to see it.

Just wanted to drop a line and say how amazing of a performance Wood put up saturday (and sunday...)

That was one of the best performances from an athlete I have ever seen at any level in any sport. To throw that many no hit innings in such a crucial/pressure situation is remarkable.

I'm glad Austin Wood is a Longhorn. And, I am really glad I tuned my computer in Saturday and caught all 25 innings of history.

Austin Wood was Awesome in every way. But I still haven't decided whether that was the best game I have ever seen or the worst. Wood's performance was probably the greatest individual performance I have ever seen. But that game was so full of irritating moments from the lack of hitting to the spotty internet feed to dragging into the wee hours. I can't imagine how stupid I would have felt to have stayed up that late fighting for a connection and they not pulled it out.

The thing that made it so frustrating was not the lack of hits it was the lack of hitting with people on base. I was about to tear my hair out. This team hits over .300 and went 2 for 21 with runners in scoring position. I mean really it was sick.

Then they did something similar last night.

I just cannot believe that will continue.

Austin F'in Wood is the best and perfectly descriptive title to a thread in a long time. Nails baby nails........

This has to be one of the best regional tourney's I have seen. In such competitive games with such questionable calling by the officials the teams showed an unbelievable amount of sportsmanship and class all the way around.

You, Sir, are the Fuckin' Tits!!

i tip my cap. THE most amazing pitching display i've ever witnessed. i'm so glad The Horns got the W.

Hook'em, Austin!

Just thought I'd mention that they talked about him on KJR this morning and Dave Sims and Mike Blowers (Mariners TV guys) were just talking about him during the Mariners/Orioles game and they threw up a graphic with some of his numbers from the game. Nice to see the UT love even up in the Pacific NW.
