As a huge Radiohead fan..

U2 gets respect because they walk the walk. Most other bands like Radiohead (who sucks) get none because they just talk the talk. Let us know when they get an audience with a world leader.

If genius boy band dude were going on and on about the unique grotesqueness of partial birth abortion, complete with large color photographs, then the same good folks supporting the free speech rights of bands now would turn on them in less than a moment.

...I thought this thread could not get any more stupid.

abortion straw dogs, meetings with world leaders as a requisite proof of activism... boy, was I wrong.

uh huh your reading skills need to be improved. Some here have no problem with bands, or anyone, having political opinions. We just don't give a crap about their opinions and wish they would not talk about it in concert.

SHEESH

i don't think you can say this is "prophetic":

"The head of state has called for me by name
But I don't have time for him."

It's really simple wedgie.

You don't like Radiohead.

Why are you still here?

What is the point of you being here?

It's really quite simple to understand that some people don't want to hear speeches at concerts. Not that that's even what inspired the original post... they played Conan on "green" day and made an enviornmental comment... BOO HOO... and to borrow from you: SHEESH!

Not one Radiohead live show I've been to has there been any "speeches" of any sort. How many Radiohead shows have you been to, and how many political speeches did you hear? If you answer "none" to the first part of that question, you shouldn't bother posting on this thread again.

100 bucks says you are just pissed because the comment took a shot at George (does "W" stand for wedgie?) Bush.

uh huh thanks for pointing out how stupid you are.

I like Radiohead. For me this is not a political issue. Whether your left or right does not matter. I don't go to concerts to listen to Bush is stupid speeches and I don't go to Ted Nugent concerts to listen to him rant about the NRA and his conservative agenda.

It is about as innocent as going to a concert walking out and saying what a great show however I could have done with out the social commentary.

You proved your self a dumbass and got your panties in a wad because you assumed that I did not Like radiohead.

wedgie...

making an assumption doesn't prove me to be stupid. i know there are ignorant ******** people like yourself that like Radiohead. that just speaks to how good the music is.

so you like Radiohead, and you'll post on a thread saying they need to just shut up and play guitar? yeah, and i'm the stupid one.

you still never answered my question, and maybe that's why you got insulting...

have you ever been to a Radiohead concert? or did you make an assumption? clearly, that wouldn't be you, because that would be stupid.

and go ahead and roll your eyes. good stuff.

Listen, it wasn't something that had already happened.

He wrote the lyric well before Tony Blair had "called for him by name."

Got it?

Maybe the past tense of the lyrics screws things up. If he would have wrote "the head of state WILL call for me by name, but I don't have time for him" would that have counted?

you're a feisty little fella. seems like you should be a fan of something a little angrier

This is my last post again my opinion has nothing to do with Radiohead It is the same for any band in the world I am seeing in concert.

Therefore whether I have been to a Radiohead concert or not has nothing to do with my opinion.

The original poster stated he wished Radiohead had not made the remarks. I simply responded, without calling Radiohead out by name, by saying I also dislike political rants during performances.

uh huh you are really taking this thread way to serious. BTW I saw Radiohead in concert years ago at The Woodlands. Stating that has nothing to do with my postings but it seemed so important to you that I disclosed so.

BTW from your responses should I assume you are a tree hugging leftist. And if so how would you feel about some rock star gong on and on in concert about pople who believe in global warming being stupid?

Hey look no rollie eyes.

Seeing as how I probably paid to go to their concert, I wouldn't give a **** what the hell they said. I'd even go so far as to say I wouldn't be ignorant to their political leanings and (gasp) lyrics.
You are just a selfish simpleton. It's all about you.

YOU pay to to to concerts, and YOU don't want to hear any speeches, so YOU can enjoy the show.

Well guess what wedgie? It ain't about you!
Great artists do not sit around and think "hmmm, what can I do to get Joe Q. Average to like me more?" They express themselves without worrying about what people like you will think of them.

Glad that was your last post on this thread. Have a great day!

i remember watching a mr. show sketch, i think it was smoosh, that had two guys who looked like those tools from oasis being interviewed. but in the commentary bob odenkirk said the inspiration for the sketch came from a radiohead interview he saw, and said "they were huge dicks" "wouldn't answer a single question" "it's beneath them to be interviewed". funny sketch.

i'm starting to detect elements of a 5th grade recess smackdown
