As a huge Radiohead fan..

I must say I'm getting pretty tired of their narcissistic ways. I used to think Neil Peart was preachy. This is from their Conan Obrien performance.

Am I the only one getting tired of this? Shut up and sing.. sheesh.

I remember when Pablo Honey had just come out and Creep was getting a lot of airplay.

Radiohead played on Conan's show. The band was new. Conan's show was new. After they finished with their song, Conan came over for the customary "greet the band". Conan walked up to shake Thom Yorke's hand, and Yorke just kept his hands stuffed in his pockets, looking down at the floor.

I remember thinking that was a pretty pompous move for a band that was just getting started. It's a good thing they make awesome music, because otherwise I would really hate them.

this stuff doesnt phase me. If a listened to only people who shared my political views my cd collection would consist of pre 1980 Rush, ted nugent and radio country.

BTW I dont know of many educated environmentalist that thought kyoto was a good idea if your true goal was reducing co2 emissions.

If GW is real, "fairness" to developing nations shouldnt be an issue

I worked on Austin City Limits for many years and developed a strong distaste for both preaching and lengthy explanations about the origins of song. Just do what you do.

With today's cost of concert tickets the last thing I want to hear at a concert is someones political opinion.

i like how people expect artist to keep their opinions to themselves. u2 and radiohead come to mind.

newflash. as previous poster stated, their politics has everything to do w/ their music. so either you're an idiot for professing to liking them and not liking their politics or you're a hypocrite.

stop listening to them. they and millions of other radiohead fans could care less.

Obviously the mindless crave elevator music.

good lord, the whole show was Conan's "Green" show... the guests had Green as part of their name everyone was talking about what they do to be green.

I don't think anyone can truly proclaim any band best in the world. Music is subjective. Some may still believe the Beatles are the best band ever, some think they were over rated. Some may think Radiohead is best. Some may hate them. IMO the best band of my generation are those four dudes in the dublin studio working on what I hope will be their next masterpiece. Some people think they are just a stale bunch of sell outs now. Who is to say for sure.

Yeah, that "speech" was pretty innocuous. Yorke's demeanor always bugs me, but the guy is a huge talent, and so are his bandmates.

A world in which all artists remain apolitical would be boring and stale. This is much ado about nothing.

UH and NB sure are grouchy. What is your problem. If you like political announcements at concerts more power to you. I don't. SHEESH

I stopped being a Radio Head fan for that reason. I got tired of their ****, so I stopped buying their albums. As is the case with many artists: If only we could just listen to their music and watch their shows (the stuff they're good at and know about) but nooooo they have to cram their politics down everyones throat. Aren't they British? I don't understand why they care so much about our politics. Oh wait, it sells over here.

either that last post is really good satire or it's one of those daily little flashes of white hot truth that remind you that ultimately... we are doomed as a species.
