Arkansas update please...

Garry F'n Johnson and Dex were owning the paint in the first half. AJs floaters were not good as usual. Was Mason even playing in this game? Never heard his name mentioned. Conner on the bench is significant.

I guess Rick and Co did not watch the tape of the Ark win over OU.

Washington had 24 and Welsh had 27 in that win.

How bout them Hogs!!!! Wooooooooooooo Pig Soooooooie !!!

Abrams was ice cold and we nearly won the game without Conner. Almost all our scoring was in the paint which is encouraging. They're starting to get some confidence in Dex and it's about time.

Granted Dex still has plenty of room to improve, but it was frustrating earlier in the season watching him get position and no one would feed him the ball. That's changing and he's putting up some serious points. Those slam dunks are pretty high percentage shots compared to the junk AJ was throwing up tonight. If Dex continues to improve, and I think he will, he's going to be a monster. BTW, it didn't help that he was getting hacked to death with every possession under the basket.

AJ ain't gonna be that cold the rest of the season. It just won't happen. He's had some spells in his career, but it never lasts longer than a few games. We just have to hope he doesn't fall into a funk during tourney play.

We got pretty sloppy on the offensive end during the second half, but I think that's something that can be fixed and really isn't too characteristic of this team.

The biggest hole I saw tonight and have seen in other games this season is our point guard play. While Mason is no TJ or DJ by any means, he has the ability to get to the hoop and distribute, i.e. 7 assists tonight. The biggest thing is cutting down on the mistakes. Once he does that, I think he can be passable at PG.

The defense is a real strength on this team and it's going to take us a long way. The game tonight really swung when Gary - although he had a great game - was called for obvious traveling on a fast break when the the score was 43-35. They went on an 6-0 run that really sparked the full comeback. Tough loss on the road tonight but I think this squad is more than ready for conference play.

Call me a pumper but that's how I see it all. Hook em and beat the **** outta OU on the court

That Washington kid committed an offensive foul everytime he touched the ball. You cannot hook your arm around a defensive player to get around them. Not sure why that was not called. Of course, the play against James was just a nice offensive move with an out of position defender and Damion made it worse by committing a horrible foul.

a significant highlight for this year's squad was beating villanova and wisconsin in hostile arenas. i hope it can be repeated in lawrence.
