Arizona vs OU

These holding calls by an SEC crew (that has worked together much of the season, I think) is an indictment on the worthless and sometimes biased Big 12 officials for having ignored OU’s holding for years. And those who have scoffed at Texas fans for complaining, there is a new sheriff in town and those teaching this form of cheating won ‘t be getting away with it anymore. It has been obvious yet ignored almost to the point of being criminal.
Good bye and good riddance to to
the pathetic Big XII officials.
Hear, Hear!

I tend to think the holding calls were more due to OU's inexperience on the offensive line than an SEC crew ...

Between the opt outs and the portal exits, bowl games (other than CFP) are like the Spring game with another team in their Spring game. Just an observation wish I had a suggestion how to fix. Literally no more than 1% of college players have an NFL future. College graduation would be a far better career path. In the off-season, I lived with an NFL starter. His career was 4 years. Retired at 28 with no job skills is a long pull.

No. What you are seeing is the predictable transformation of this board that scoffed at the notion of the SEC!SEC!SEC! being the best conference to the embracing of said notion now that Texas is joining. It's inevitable. Fans will chant SEC at games and start touting the conference just like every other SEC school fanbase.

And, I'll bet fans of said schoolss not named Alabama, Georgia, and LSU probably accuse SEC officials of biased calls to favor the big name SEC programs.

Big XII officials are the worst I have ever seen. Period. Since junior high school. Not just anti-Texas, overall terrible. The only conference with no in season game review process. And it is painfully obvious. Making proper judgement calls requires having some judgement in the first place.

I don't think so.
I didn't see any great glorification of the SEC in that post.
He merely pointed out that OU is actually being called for holding, which never seemed to happen when the refs were B12 refs.
The same thought cross my mind and I hoped that if this is the way the SEC calls the game, I hope it carries on into next season.
I still hope we're the most hated team in the SEC and nobody chants that ridiculous chant.

Yeah, that was strange to see Usually a 3 man rush is a guaranteed to get a drive going. AZ must have had some excellent coverage guys, because even with all day to throw, no one was still open. As the announcer explained it, OL's will angle themselves one way to block, but then if the DL moves the other direction to chase the QB, what was a good block becomes holding since they are pulling instead of pushing, suddenly.

It was a fun game to watch. While you often see Team A go out to a lead, then the other team comes storming back, you usually then don't see Team A then come re-storming back and put the game away.

Scoring last night was 13-0, then 0-24, then 25-0. The runback for a TD by AZ was of course the spark, otherwise I think they'd have been blown out.
Didn’t Az run a couple back? Seems like they ran an INT, which they later deemed a fumble, like 75 yds for an TD, and then later another strip 6 for about 40 yds for a TD. Lol. Any way you look at it fantastic game!

I'm curious if any saw the final game stats total of ou turnovers last night? At one point in the game I believe the tv guys said they had 5 but there were more turnovers after that....

Suspect it could have been as high as 8.

Not sure I understand which point you are trying to make but I can tell you that many Longhorn fans have more pride than to worship at the alter of the SEC with the accompanying chant. We are comfortable with our identity. I am sure many will fall in line with the likes of the Aggies. Not this guy! As to officiating, that was a very well officiated game last night and that is a rarity with the Big XII crews. We have had miserable leadership in the league office and years and bad choices in official selection. I watched holding last night and it was identical to what OU has gotten away with for years.
I will defer to Sabre on the reason for the shi- show by Big XII officials but I can attest to what I see, and it just ain’t good.
Hoping our fans can stay away from the SEC chant. We are bigger than that.

What if the SEC chant is in reference to the conference referees and not the conference teams?

I have been a Texas fan since the early 80s. I'm aware of how Texas fans are.

You gloss over the clear and obvious fact that Texas joining the SEC has actually made it the best conference. Our presence tends to do that, you know.
