Sark walking out after that press conference, “I said that sh%*, didn’t mean a word of it, Flood. Get your boys ready to clown these fools.”

I assume we will sell out to stop Skattebo, he's good
Do they have much of a passing game to counter with?
I haven't followed them this year

Chop says QB is inconsistent.
Leavitt is top 10 in the espn QBR, higher than any QB Texas has faced. That's nothing to sneeze at. And they have a RB who finished 5th in the Heisman. Add Skattebo to Clemson and that's pretty much what Texas will be facing. And they rank higher than Clemson in total defense. Need good Quinn again.

It would also be nice if the WR's learn proper hand positioning before the next kickoff.

With these stats noted, it is also important to note that the ASU QB is ranked higher than Quinn in QBR. In fact, he's just above Carson Beck. So without doing deep statistical dives into relative strength of opponents and all that, it appears to come down to a question of how will their QB fare against a strong pass D, vs how will QE fare against a weaker pass D. (Side note: there are no BigXII defenses ahead of ours in any statistical category, so it's safe to say we will be the greatest challenge the ASU QB has faced all season.)

A big difference in the pass D that doesn't show up in these stats is sacks. We have collected 41 sacks, while ASU has only sacked the QB 21 times all season. We also have forced a lot more turnovers than ASU has.

All in all, if we can win turnovers and force a few timely sacks/hurries, our offense should be more than capable of outscoring theirs.

They're going to run Skatebo a lot, a whole lot. I think some people overestimate ASU's passing attack. They'll likely try to grind it out on the ground. Skatebo makes people miss and runs through arm tackles. Their QB can also run pretty well. I don't know if there's any team we've played this year that is comparable. We're a very solid tackling defense. That alone should hold ASU to 7-10 points less than they normally score.

We want lots of early drive stops and not long sustained drives on the ground by ASU.

Skattebo concerns me a bit.

We'll have to be solid on our tackling technique with him: he seems like a bowling ball who runs through or bounces off arm tackles.

Their QB can run too. All in all, we'll have to play a very disciplined game on defense.

ASU's schedule is very similar to Clemson in that they had a pretty easy go of things. They've only played 5 teams with a winning record going 4-1 in those games. Their overall opponents record is 74-83 with an overall average margin of victory being 11.8 ppg. Considering the weak schedule I'd think they would win most by more than that, but they overall won most games by 8 points or less with the exception of 3 blowouts which skewed the overall average.

While the ACC is weak, I believe the Big 12 is weaker and while we should have blown the doors off Clemson, we only won by two touchdowns. I believe ASU is in for a great awakening on 1/1 when they face the Texas defense. Men against boys.

WTF Moments in ASU's 2024 run:

Win over TEXAS STATE 31-28

Loss to TEXAS TECH 30-22

Loss to WKRP in CINCINNATI 24-14

Win over CENTRAL FLORIDA 35-31
