Are we recruiting more out of state prospects?

Wonder how ou would do if they were to recruit only boys from Oklahoma high schools?

Speaking of OU, do any followers of OU out of state recruiting know how they stand with AA WR's Brown, Randle and Evans?

Current OOS Horns include Alexander, Brewster, Houston and Irby. We also have three or four walk-ons from OOS. Right now we have one commit from Arkansas and are in on at least to more of the top 20 national players.

No Scott at RB, which would have been helpful. But, no use crying over spilt milk.

Since I guess no sooner lurker knew the answer to my question above, it now looks like the chances of getting any of the three top out of state receivers is very grim.
Marlon Brown just dropped them today, and Randle is probably a lock for LSU, still do not know about Evans, but he is from California, and that would be hard for me to see him leaving there for the dirt boys. They may be done on the top guys this year.

My okie state buddy sent me a brief message saying that there's a DB out of Jenks that UT is after that okie state has been recruiting hard for a few years. He claims that both Muschamp & Akina are recruiting the kid. Does anyone know who this target might be?

Haven't been to the board in awhile. Still astounded by comments by people like 71. We have a few "out of state walk- ons"

The Texas staff does not try very hard with OOS recruits. Most of our OOS recruits over the last 10 years are children or relatives of alums or have come to the coaches and forced them to consider them.

This would be fine if we had won 5 of the last 10 or even 3 of the last 10 conference championships.

I don't follow recruiting except what I see here and on the Rivals rankings but it seems like UT has recruited several OOS players this year including Kennard (AZ), Richardson (FL), Kirkpatrick and Kelly (AL), Johnson (ARK), and perhaps Lynn (OK), Davenport (LA) and probably some I have forgotten. That's more than a handful but less than a passel.

And from the past classes nobody has mentioned Cole and Chase Pittman or Major Applewhite, all from Louisiana I think. Chris Simms and Ricky Williams. Lamarr Houston and Aaron Lewis who should play big roles on D this year.

We are trying to recruit some guys, none have yet committed. Most are from SEC territory due to our new DC.

LSU recruits 5 guys from Texas most years better than the bottom 10 in our classes. We seldom control Texas.

With our success and facilities we should be able to compete nationally with USC and ND for the top 50 type guys. Imagine two additional top 50 starters every year.
