Are Republicans giddy about November?

I can't see Obama or Hilary pulling this off. I'm not sure the country is willing to embrace a black or female president.

?

at this point they are not even getting around McCain. Giddy? not sure the numbers back up the country wont vote for Obama or hillary.

especially considering the Dem races have been drawing record participation numbers...even drawing in others like independents....well out drawing the rep side. People are extremely energized this year and its not so much about John McCain

McCain would prob beat Hillary but she would have a chance...and he wouldnt beat Obama IMO. even national polls show Obama up on McCain right now

I wouldn't say giddy but I think there is a very good chance of winning. The national heads up race polls don't mean anything right now because more people are focused on the Dem candidates. Once we have it narrowed down to two and people start comparing then the numbers will be more accurate.

I will say this again, do not expect the GOP to sit this one out. Even with the griping about McCain now, there is no way they won't get behind him when the election comes. I am not the biggest fan of McCain myself, even though I do like him in general, but I will sure vote for him in November.

Giddy? anyone that is claiming they are giddy at this point is not based in reality. I'm 43 and a lifelong Republican in every presidential election I have been eligible to vote in. I cannot say with any certainty that I will vote for McCain this year. None at all. In fact chances are I may vote for Obama if he gets the nomination, which I think he will. However, I will take the Democratic ballot in the upcoming Texas primary just to vote against Hillary. If it was McCain vs Hillary I may vote 3rd party this year. At this point I fully expect a democrat to win the election. I think the Reps are going to have a VERY hard time winning this year and no one I know is "giddy" about the prospects of this party facing Obama especially

Lets see who gets what vote:
Obama
White vote except deep south
Black vote everywhere
Latin vote will move to him after HRC is out
Female
Repubs that are middle ground and not happy with their party
Mcain
White unltra left bible thumper vote.

I am sorry Mcain has little or no chance to win against Obama.

wait until after the democratic convention. It's possible you'll have every Democratic demographic pissed off at the winner.

Live by identity politics, die by identity politics

I dont understand the "I'm a republican, I'm not going to vote for McCain and I'm going to throw my vote away by voting 3rd party" mindset.

What is the point of that? Why not just vote for the Democrat or the Republican? Why throw your vote away? To brag to your friends "I didn't vote for that moron, [insert winner's name]"

It's pretty simple. Of anyone out there right now I think he could put this country going in the right direction. I dont like McCain and there is no way I am voting for him. The only reason I would vote 3rd party is if it was between Hillary and McCain

I'm not as politically in tune as most of y'all, but I am interested. I've said it a million times, social-liberal, fiscal-conservative.

I generally vote democrat, but I can't vote for Hilary right now. Would McCain fit my bill? Well, he's considered a war-hawk, correct? Why do other GOP not like him?

My candidate is out. It was Rudy. I know nothing of Huckabee.

what are you guys smokin?! i think if its obama v. mccain, game set match, obama. i know its just the dems but there is no chance in hell that mccain beats obama, it just isn't happening.

Sure things change but I'll believe McCain becomes exciting to the rep party and conservatives in general when I see it. Hell even tonight it was obvious with him struggling against Huckabee this late in the game with Huck basically a lame duck
