Updog - Is it your contention that ...let's say ... Durant was no more valuable than any other player on that team because everyone plays a role on the team? VY no more important than anyone else on the NC team?

Sorry, some players are more valuable than others. Damion and Dex are more 'valuable' than Mason and Ward.

Never dreamed the "freshmen" on this team would play with the confidence they did yesterday. Of course they had their "moments" but WOW...this is going to be one fun year!!!!

Dex looks to have lost weight.

VY- point guard is about playing in control and limiting turnovers. Running the offense to get a good look at the basket is what barnes would like to see I would think.

Defense at the point is also extremely important.

Brown did not show well in those areas in the first game.
Balbay looked great out there.

If Balbay continues to run the offense and make passes the way he does, and keeps playing lockdown D, he'll be a force to be reckoned with at PG despite his shooting woes.

Defenses sagging off him knowing he's not a long-range shooter will be their only saving grace b/c not many guys can play up on him and not get burned. And once he's heading towards the goal - yeah he's got trouble finishing at the rim, but you can't just let a guy have an uncontested layup - somebody has to come over to stop him and probably leave another Longhorn open for pass. Balbay did a great job finding the open man and avoiding turnovers.

This is the impression I got from the first game: This team comes at you in waves that are overwhelming. The starting 5 played well and UC Irvine hung in there for the first 10 minutes or so. But, we just kept bringing in bad-asses off the bench that went at least 12 deep that were fresh until late in the game. This is going to be a problem for a lot of teams- even UNC who always has a bad *** starting 5 or 7 players but won't be anywhere near as deep as we are. We will stay fresh for the entire 40 mins because we have stars 2 deep at 4 out of the 5 positions.
