Any Rod Davis News?

Since I share the same frustration as Mack, does anyone know why he might be pissy?

Is he frustrated at himself? Recruits? Other coaches? Ketch? I didn't read the press conference quotes but maybe Mack is frustrated at re-occuring antics that recruits/coaches have been playing the last couple of years.

Perhaps Mack needs to re-evaluate his recruiting strategy? Using the same approach every year will eventually fade and hopefully by bring in Major and Muschamp, Mack will polish up his tactics a bit.
 
Mack:

"I haven't soured on out-of-state at all, we have just been really successful on in-state and we have had more success out of state with guys who have ties. Texas is a different place, the tradition here, the history here, if you didn't grow up with our history and tradition and you don't know how special this place is, then you're one-of-five (choices for a player). I don't want us to be one-of-five. I want us to one-of-one or one-of-two. Maybe that's wrong, but I want guys that love it here, I want guys that are crying when they walk out of that tunnel. On senior day, I want all the moms and dad there. That's just the way I am and the way I feel. When they say we are one-of-five, then I say you’re (down to) one-of-four because I'm out."

I actually kinda agree with Bundy that as far as ethics go, recruiting is in the same neighborhood with telemarketing, televangelists, and selling used cars. That being said, Mack's ethics aren't under question, and there's nothing wrong with checking back with a committed player to see if he might want to change his mind. It happens all the time.
