Any guesses on the Regional?

Plan on Stanford or Long Beach. There is no way that they put us in a top 8 region as a #2. We'll be in a paired regional and not in a conference foe. Maybe Athens or Baton Rouge, but more likely out west.

And no, please NOT Baton Rouge. Two of the hottest teams in the nation right now are Texas and LSU (won 20 in a row). I'd REALLY prefer going ANYwhere but the Box right now.

We should be hosting the regional after what this team did the last 3 weeks or so. If not, I say Baton Rouge

It really amazes me that Coastal Carolina got a host. From a $$ standpoint (and, really that's all that it is about with the NCAA), they should be in Austin as our #1 seed in a UT (as a 2) regional.

Selfishly, I'll take the Houston regional so that I can watch the Owl beatdown in person. And, Baton Rouge wouldn't be so bad, those ******* are due 2 quick losses.

TEXAS will be a #2 seed

Where will TEXAS go?

TEXAS won't go to Houston because Rice is too high of a #1 seed
TEXAS won't go to Athens because Georgia is too high of a #1 seed
TEXAS won't go to Baton Rouge because LSU in too high of a #1 seed
TEXAS won't go to College Station because of conference tie
TEXAS won't go to Stillwater because of conference tie
TEXAS won't go to Lincoln because of conference tie
TEXAS won't go to Michigan because Michigan is most likely a #2

That leaves:

Fullerton, Calif./California State Fullerton
Stanford, Calif./Stanford
Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach State
Conway, S.C./Coastal Carolina
Raleigh, N.C./NC State

Both Carolinas are too low of a seed, they may even be a #2 seed at their own place

TEXAS will be contending with San Diego, Missouri, California, Florida, Wichita St., St. Johns, Kentucky, and UC Irvine for #2 seed placement

I think TEXAS will be in the upper tier of the #2 seeds

That puts TEXAS in California

My bet is they put Augie at his old stomping grounds

Fullerton, Calif./California State Fullerton

Not putting us against a high # 1 seed would make more sense if they had not sent us to Tallahassee that time. I don't think the NCAA is too worried about screwing the Horns.

I'd almost guarantee we're going to Rice. This is set up so perfectly for the committee that I can't see how they'd do it differently -- there will be 8 teams from Texas and they will fill the two Texas regionals:

A&M
TCU
Dallas Baptist
Sam Houston

Rice
Texas
Cougar High
Texas Southern

A&M has to love that draw; Rice has to hate it.

A&M has already beaten DBU 2 of 3 (their last series win of the regular season) and TCU is a borderline 3-seed. Both DBU (Meeker) and TCU (Lockwood) have only one really good starting pitcher, which they'd use against each other.

Whoops, thanks fall. A&M still has to love that draw.

I honestly can't see the selection committee doing anything different than giving 8 Texas bids and putting them in the two Texas regionals.

aggy is not playing the same as they were then and dbu is pretty good team & would have a pretty good chance of eliminating the ags.

DBU might not even play A&M. I think Lockwood (7-1, 2.21 ERA) would knock DBU into the loser's bracket, and TCU's other starters all have 4+ ERAs. If you're a 1-seed, you have to love a 2-seed that only has one stud pitcher.

curious, what's tcu's bullpen like? DBU's is pretty salty.
Bagley 37 ip, 54 so, .213 era
Haney 46 ip, 45 so, .233 era
and only has one starter under .300 ba on the year. I think they have a combined .500 record against teams that will be selected for the tourney.

i guess pick your poison.....and remember the anteaters!!!
