Any guesses on the Regional?

I think we are hosting and a number two seed

I do not think we are hosting as a #2....who would be the #1 coming to Austin? The only #1 seed I can see traveling is obviously Coastal Carolina, and they seem to be a lock to go to UM.

I cannot find another #1 they move, I think Texas needs to get up into the top 16 to host, which may, May, MAY be possible, but doubt it.

#2 and travel, but stay in-state. The way the committee likes to put the screws to us, no way they do us a favor and let us host as a 2. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent us to Baton Rouge.

Logically I don't see it, but I've heard we did put in a fat bid so who knows. There have been a couple of times they didn't give us a regional just so it wouldn't look like Texas was a lock every year to host, but the NCAA very much takes the dollars into consideration for these things.

Here's a good guess from the ESPNU College Baseball Blog. My question is... why wouldn't Arizona host as a 1 if they have the facilities to do so? Should they be punished by the allmighty $$? That'll be the debate if this occurs:

lol. sounds like a #1 versus #16 scenario to me, though i think michigan deserves to be across from miami and not arizona/ut.

Texas athletic department has been very public about bidding more than anyone else, and Augie was saying before today's game and again after today's game that the tournament final would have an impact on the committee's decision regarding whether or not Texas hosts, and everyone here (including myself) was saying the opposite, so we'll see very soon who was right.

Did anybody get regional ticket information in the mail? They usually mail it out towards the end of the season with a line like "IF Texas hosts a regional, do you want tickets..."
My parents haven't gotten anything.

I called the ticket office Friday and asked. They said they were not taking orders for the regionals on an "if awarded" basis. That tells me the probability of hosting is low.

Rice does not want to see us in their regional. That would be too cruel for their 100 year old coach.

I am guessing that we go to Houston where Rice is the host as a #2 seed. We win that regional. I am very pumped about our play of late. Where was this during the regular season? This is the time of the year to be peaking though!!

My guess is the Houston regional...they wouldnt put us in college station b/c they are in the same conference as us...
