Another Tradition Ends...A Tunnel Vision Viewpoint

I was at the game in the southeast corner of the stadium. From my vantage point, I could see the ball pass behind the nearer upright and then pass in front of the further upright, so I knew the kick was good, but I wasn't sure how good. When I re-watched the game on the DVR the next day, I saw the kick was dead center.

Really glad that somebody brought this thread back, as I nearly missed it. F'n awesome job by TJ (Teddy James?).

Awesome story. I’m trying to remember any of our kickers (in recent memory) choking away a game-winning opportunity at the end of a game, and I can’t think of one. All I can think of are iconic last-second kicks that went through the uprights: Phil Dawson’s 50-yard kick against a 30 mph wind in the ’95 Virginia game; Kris Stockton’s kick at the end of the ’98 aggy game (which helped seal the deal for Ricky’s Heisman); Dusty Mangum’s kick against Michigan in the '05 Rose Bowl; and of course Hunter Lawrence in the ’09 Big 12 Championship game against Nebraska. Talk about Longhorn magic…

thank you and HOOK 'EM!

I applaud you and the wonderful use of the English language, which seems to be a lost art these days.! Well said, well said

I somehow missed this when it was first posted. A poster on another board linked to it. Damn fine read--why in the name of all that's burnt orange and holy is this not on the "Classics" board?!?
