Our Grandson, Luke, is 7 years old and loves the Horns and the Express. Tonight while watching the game, he was hit in the face by a line drive to his seat. He lost consciousness. He is in pedi ICU at Children's with a concussion, facial fractures. It looks like he will be okay, but won't know for sure until the swelling goes down. Your prayers for him are appreciated. Thanks

Luke has been in my prayers all weekend. Hope all is well.

Thank you all so much. He has 8 fractured bones in his face including his nose and around both eyes. We found out tonight he also has a basular skull fracture. No surgery needed at this time, which is wonderful news, but the cribaform fracture around his brain left air in the space so he basically has an exposure for Menengitis. Also, he has double and blurred vision so we must wait to see how that will turn out.
He is a very brave young man and we appreciate your prayers.

After meeting Luke last year I was touched by his charm. He's a special young man with more fight than any boxer who has stepped into a ring. His passion to go forward is incredible. Luke is in my prayers and I hope to toss the ball with him this upcoming season again. God bless.

Luke saw the trauma doc on Friday. He got the green light for swimming, (no rivers or lakes), anything on wheels as long as he wears his helmet, which he always does, and any other activity that he can do with low risk of getting hit in the face or head. Doc thinks the memory/confusion problem will improve with time. The only worry at this point is he cannot sustain another head injury within the next 8 weeks. We are very cautious to never let him out of our sight.
Thanks again for all your prayers, thoughts, encouraging words. This forum is truly a blessing for our family.
