Someone correct me if I'm wrong but IF osu makes it to the playoffs then she gets suspended? That just blows. However, at least the NCAA did what the Big XII is unwilling/unable to do!
The Cowgirls better hope for a high seed in the NCAA because they won't have their PG in the first round. We won't know how stiff this penalty truly is until then. (Can you imagine them in an 8/9 matchup in that situation?)
We can only hope Riley has learned from this and matured as well. If not, she does not belong on the basketball court.
I like the decision by the NCAA. I was expecting a suspension when the season started that would have no impact. This decision will have a huge impact on their post season play and very well may affect their seeding since the committee will know that Riley cannot play in the first game.
I am just glad something was done. As one of the people who wrote to the Big 12 Commissioner, I hope this will serve notice to that young lady that cheaters do not win, and that people will be watching her closely....she better wise up, or she can expect a LOT more game suspensions.....I doubt Budke would have the guts to throw her off the team, (unlike Coale) even if she does throw a punch again...
and, I also hope that OSU gets trounced their first game in the NCAA's because of her suspension!!
