AM vs. Duke

Looks like this one is in Duke's favor. All but 2 of the top 10 bracketeers on ESPN's women's tournament challenge are predicting a Duke win. I hope it's an exciting game though, no matter who loses.

I think A&M may be taken too lightly. This is a talented team! Maybe the performance of the other Big 12 is affecting opinions.

I think A&M has a really good chance of winning this one if they come out and play their game. Too many veterans to come out with the deer in the headlights syndrome.

WOW! What a game this is going to be. I think A&M has the momentum right now, even with Duke having better players. Going to be interesting.

Some comments:

Takia Starks is missing a lot of shots today. It seems like EVERY shot she took went in when they played Texas. A&M players from all sports rise to new levels when they see burnt orange.

Also, there was one player that the announcer said "Joanne P. McCallie loves her. Gail Goestenkors buried her on the end of the bench but now she's finally getting a chance to play"..

I don't mind seeing aTm making it to the Elite 8 to garner a little Big 12 respect, but I'm not going to be sad if they don't.

Duke had the deer in the headlights look. Waner looks absolutely miserable. Did I hear them say that her sister left the program? Why would she leave before tourney time?

Also, did I notice that the Duke assistant refused to shake Blair's hand after the game. Blair sort of smirked and shook his head.

Did anyone hear one of the talking heads refer to the Dukies post-game statement that the aggies were much more "physical" than one could see? Wonder if they were implying dirty play? If so that might be the reason the duke assistant would not shake Blair's hand.

I did hear the comment that Duke compared A&M's defense to that of several other top teams and said that the Aggie's defense was more physical than any of the other schools. They basically said that A&M's defense is the best that they have faced.

I saw plenty of good aggressive defense from A&M when we played them, but I didn't see anything dirty.

I was at this game and a&m's defense won this game. They suffocate you and it's not dirty it's just good hard nose defense. The Aggies wanted it more and you could tell. I think they have something to prove and last night they proved it.

I can't wait to see how they defend TN. Some may think it will be a blow out however I disagree. This should be a good game.

I don't think the Aggies have a answer for Parker. But come to think of it, who does? Bobbitt will match up will with Franklin, and Hornbuckle and Auguste match up well with the other A&M guards. Tennessee will win it in the paint.
