AM doing well so far on JR Day

Unless I'm thinking of someone else, both of Barrera's parents went to a&m.
Michael is a very good RB, wonder why we weren't recruiting him harder.
 
thats 2 big commits.
i think barrera was suppose to come into Austin for a visit next week.
i thought we would pursue michael more also.
 
With Texas filling up so quickly and many HS players realizing their dream won't come true, you can only expect aggy to get a guy here and there. How many did aggy pick up their first Jr day which was two weeks before the Texas Jr day?
 
My personal opinions:

Don't be silly! Any body that says that isn't the same old A&M crap that has been going on for the whole decade, either doesn't have a clue, or if they do have a clue, then they're lying about it.



These are not FOUR or five star commits. There is not a four star or five star athlete among any of the A&M commits listed so far.

Our recruiting was expected to suck, now it is sucking, and the only question is will the recruiting continue to suck in the future. ( I've got a clue ! )

If A&M doesn't have a minimum of 14 or more four and five star signees by Feb 09, then $Bill's contract must immediately be terminated. Period.

A&M must immediately get an AD that understands he must hire football coaches that can recruit equal to or better than ut and ou to even get out of the southern division of the Big 12. And we haven't even won that this decade. A&M has put a non BCS team on the field every year and the present recruiting will keep A&M a non BCS team.

A&M must hire some recruiters now, period.

Yes, I'm repeating ! UT and ou have each averaged signing 14 four and five star athletes every year this whole decade while A&M has averaged only 6.

Nick Saban, one year removed from the NFL like Sherman, hired 9 recruiters as assistants, and this year signed 3 five star athletes and 19 four star athletes. This is not rocket science! He knows how to win big!

UT already has 1 five star and 3 four star cream of the crop athletes committed, and A&M doen't have a single one on their commitment list.
3 of ut commits are on the national 100 list.


UCLA and Michigan both have new coaches and they both have four and five star commits already.


A&M just doesn't get it. We all get 85 players; it's the talent level that makes the difference.

Winning coaches sign four and five star athletes, say "it's about winning", then just go out and consistantly win big!

Losing coaches sign the two and three star athletes that are left over, say "it's about player development", then just consistantly go out and lose big!

The names that he will hear from the A&M staff are Steve Young, Brett Favre, John Elway, and how he will fit into a a west coast rollout offense not as a running quarterback, but a quarterback with scrambling ability.
 
aggy delusion at its greatest with Shepard. aggy coaches are only telling him what he wants to hear, not what position he can play at the next level. "Shepard is aggies to lose"? give me a break.
 
Christian Michaels will be a mid-to-high 4-star. Probably Natl Top 100 when all is said and done.

Scales is thought highly of, but I don't think he's in the Walters/Grey/Ashcroft class. I know Ketch has him Top 30 in the state, but I think he'll end up a 3-star.

Barrera will be a 4-star. Offers from LSU and TAMU, invited to UTs Junior Day.

Naron seems to be a 3-star in the same old is Chris Lathrop.

Wish we'd have had aour DefCor there. We need to start making some progress on the defensive side of the ball.
 
Nice pick up on Michael. For whatever reason we didn't go after him yet. Pretty clear Whaley was our guy and based on his videos, and other offers, I understand why. Barrera seemed like the only aggy commit so far that we were targeting, must have liked aggy going in to commit prior to UT Jr. Day. Laughing about RS. I also find it funny this stuffs gets posted on our board via aggy. Out of curiousity, do we have obsessed fans posting on the aggy boards during our Jr. days?
 
I hope both coaches are telling Shepard the truth regarding his options as a QB/WR prospect. He will get a shot to play QB at whatever school he chooses, but most schools will want him to play at least a slash position at first.

He will have to master the short ball like VY to get snaps early in his college career, then develop the medium to long routes.

VY threw 5 and 10 yard passes, mixed with an occasional medium or longball, all the way to the national championship. Reggie McNeal, believed to be a better passer going into 2005, had the wheels come off because he couldn't throw a 5 yard out to save his life.

The fact is: today, the recruiting sites show that UT has committed 4 four and five star athletes because the UT coaches just recruit four and five star athletes well. (notice: the stars are right after each name, to end the speculation)

The fact is: today, A&M has zero commits on the National 100 list because A&M's coaches just don't recruit cream of the crop four and five star athletes well.

The fact is: today, UT has 3 commits on the national 100 list, just because UT coaches recruit the cream of the crop athletes very well.

The fact is: last November, A&M's coaches resumes showed that they just don't recruit four and five star athletes well .

The fact is: A&M's coaches lost 4 four and five star athletes, and others, within a couple weeks of signing day 08, just because they don't recruit four and five star athletes well.

The fact is: $Bill failed miserably because the A&M coaches hired, just don't recruit four and five star athletes well.
