AM at Texas

L4, your citation of Louisville making it to the championship game compared to us being out in the first round as an example of our program having "fallen" does not hold water in this day and age when parity has never been more real. Podunk U can now make it to the Final Four and all I have to say is THANK GOD the womens' game has made it to this point (and thanks in no small part to people like Jody, Gail, Pat).

As I have said on numerous occasions, my support for our team and our coaches will not waver. Let's go get those Huskers, ladies!

I agree that the team seemed shellshocked that first half. I didn’t expect that because of the many players that have played against A&M the past three years and because of playing UConn and Tenn earlier. That’s the frustrating part to me.

Now, the second half was much better but no way was the team coming from 25 down to A&M. But, still, I was very glad that they didn’t quit and continued to bust their asses to come back.

This is a 16 game stretch and there are going to be some ugly losses by some teams, including ours. But there will be some very good wins, including some by the Horns. Aggies do seem to have our number. We will see what happens next time they play.

Nebraska is coming up and that is going to be a tough game but the Horns need to pull out a win to get back on track. Given that most of us didn’t really expect the team to go undefeated in conference, I’m going to pound my head on the table a few times and move on to looking forward to the next game.

OK, "can't we all get along"?

Yes, the team played awful yesterday...but as several people have commented, there were some positives....

Coach G mentioned in the rewind that not being able to practice the the "guys" hurt them....

But she can't prevent our players from looking/playing like "Bambi in the Headlights" when they are smacked around.....oh, she can encourage them, berate them for being too timid, and work on them being more aggressive themselves, but this team needs to BELIEVE within themselves that they can dish it out....

Come on, Ladies, believe, execute, NO FEAR!!

What is the coach's job if not to get the team ready to play? Players have to execute but we've seen this horror show against A&M too many times to blame it only on the players. "Not getting to scrimmage with the guys" is a pretty lame excuse.

I am kinda amazed at some of the posts on this board after 1 game. As fans we need to stop looking for a reason why we lose that game against AM. Its very easy to see why we lose that game. Look at the first half! The players has to play with some energy and excitement. The coach cant teach that. Even our veterans looked like they were scared. Bottom line, we need some ball players. We have a ok team. If they just could learn to play for 40 minutes they would be good. I think the coaching staff is doing a pretty good. We might want to become a zone team. We dont have the speed or athletes to play the system that Coach G is trying to put in place.

Like I said before - absolutely nothing wrong with role players, we must have them but we lack a few good GAME CHANGERS!

Let's dust off the dirt and go get the Huskers!

True2Horns, it doesn't feel like there is much parity. Most of the top teams are the same as for awhile, half the elite eight seems the same every year, there are several teams each season who are nearly invincible and blow almost everyone out of the water, etc...

While it is true that the UConn's and Tennessee's are pretty much always gonna be in the Final Four, the field of really good teams has broadened so much over the past 8-10 years. The fact that a Louisville can make it is prime evidence.

That is sooo true. Louisville scrapped their way to that championship game...which proved that ANY team with a little bit of heart is capable in the NCAA tournament.
