All time wins behind ND

I'm not aware of Tennessee playing any high schools, military bases, "fields", or YMCA's, but probably my favorite opponent was the American Temperance Society, that group that fought for the prohibition of alcohol in the US. Not to be denied their right to create spirituous beverages in jars, the Vols defeated the ATS 104-0.

Ahh...look at who has the most 10+ win seasons.

10 win seasons

...and second most probations or infractions of all times. Scumbag team for scumbag fans who don't care if they have to cheat to get wins. There is no defense for this. Not sane ones, at least.

Facts are sufficient. You can pretend your school is not laden with penalties if you like. The nation knows otherwise. There are certain constants in the world, this is one. We are an all time better program, better academic school and have more wins, even head to head.

Your national titles are tainted. You know it, we know, everybody knows it. There is no debate about it in the end. It just is. I am sorry you cannot wrap your head around facts. They are pesky in how they keep getting in the way, huh?

It makes me a little nervous seeing as how Ohio State has 798 wins considering how well they have been doing since hiring Tressel.

What has OU done in the way of cheating in the last 20 years that has helped them win a single football game? How is our 2000 NC tainted sir?

Did OU break the rules during the Switzer days to entice players to come to OU...absolutely. It is a documented fact that Texas has done similar things. You want to argue who has done it more...that's fine; however cheating is cheating and if you get caught once (which you have) then you're just as guilty.

You want to talk sports other than Football...fine. Sampson got busted for making excessive phone calls and got our BB program on probation. I believe your baseball team was busted a few years back as well and landed themselves on NCAA probation, too.

Say Texas doesn't cheat also? I call BS and have facts on my side to prove it.

I'm gonna ignore the Sooner for the sake of this thread.

Texas shouuld schedule Notre Dame as one of their OOC games next season. I realize it is too late for that... but man would the game get a lot of press considering where the teams stand...

I think I was called a poopie head for infinity and then he told me, no tag backs. I don't know what to do. Infinity is a long time.

Texas School for the Deaf was really good in 1903. They had this running back, Rip Tucker, who would make snot fly. Plus, they were not affected by crowd noise.

Tennessee also has that impressive 6-0 win over Cumberland, only 216 shy of what Georgia Tech did to them. But their wins include Maryville, Transylvania (Herman Munster?), Bristol (ESPN) and Central (Ky) which sounds as much like a high school as any.

And what is up with Chattanooga AC, Asheville AC, and Bristol AC? Are those trade schools for working on air conditioners?

I think AC means Athletic Club, or possibly Agricultural College. But you're right, it's just as silly a victory as is the Austin YMCA or the high schools Texas counts as victories. But they invariably count as victories, although we'd all agree that Galveston Ball HS was probably a little easier than a victory over OU or Florida.

I'm saying they shouldn't count. None of them. The count should start at some point in the early 1900's, when actual legislation and governing bodies were in place. It was just a free for all before a certain point in time, and it's often impossible to distinguish fact from fiction.

We can agree on that. And when that gets fixed, then let's take a look at the National Championship counts.

I think we should drop 1970, but Bama and USC look to have really inflated numbers in that category.

blonthang backed up his points with good reasoning. AstroVol could only come back with "wow". Pretty easy to tell who won that exchange.

Texas destroyed Galveston Ball HS in their 3 meetings by a combined score of 67-0. Galveston Ball HS, with all of their cornbread-fed strapping Canaanites were unable to score a single point in 3 games of football against the nerdy rich frat boy Longhorn football team.

OTOH, since 2000, Texas has been out-scored by OU 239-148, with 2 wins and 6 losses.

blonthang seems like a good poster, and he seems like he has had his finger on the pulse of Longhorn history for some time, but I am miserably failing to follow his reasoning as to how "most of us don't agree that playing Galveston Ball High during that era was easier than playing OU. " Do I need to go get a calculator?

Fair enough...Texas lost 50-0 to OU "during that era."

How does that compare to the HS, who failed to even score in 3 meetings?

So what you are saying is that both the easter egg pale orange Tennessee had a hard time beating Bob Stoops. Thank heavens a real qb, Tee Martin, stepped in to win the big game for you.

In English, please?

Are you saying that Tennessee had trouble beating Stoops? They did. Stoops is a great coach, but undoubtedly a mental midget compared to whatever genius was coaching Galveston Ball HS who failed to score against the Longhorns in 3 meetings around the turn of the 20th century, as blonthang has already proven. The Vols went 1-2 against the Gators during Stoops' 3 years as DC, but won 2 SEC titles and a MNC during that span.
