All time wins behind ND

How many do we lag behind them going into this season?

Looking forward to becoming #2 overall

ND should, should be a little better than last year - if Weis pulls his head out.... perhaps they win 5 or 6 games? If the Horns win say 10 or 11 games, they would at least tie them this season and possibly take over #2. This is pretty amazing to me as 25 years ago I didn't think I'd see us overtaking ND in my lifetime.... even Nebraska had a pretty big lead on us before we overtook them.

michigan is probably another 20 years away....but occupying #2 will be sweet and moving towards #1 will be incredible. for all of the mack haters, it was ONLY because of him and his 10 win season streak that we are where we are..

where do we stand if we count from the same starting year?... I think Michigan started playing football YEARS before we did...

Maybe we should count our spring game wins. Have you seen how far aggy has climbed up the ladder since they started doing so?

"With this victory, your Texas Longhorns move into second place on the all-time NCAA Div. I football win list!"

When it happens, that statement is the perfect thing to say - no more, no less

Without looking at what these different teams bring to the table as far as returners on O and D, talent, etc, I can see them going 6-6. I don't know if UNC will be better next year with Butch Davis having more time to do his thing there, and I dont know if BC will be any good after losing a good QB.

If this is the case, then we would take them over if we won our bowl game? Is that right? Given those records?

l00p - dude, you are so cynical. You really think Belmont and Dodds would do that for a buck?

.... besides they gotta work Joe Jamail in there somehow!

Goose - thanks for sharing the irish schedule for '08. That looks like some pretty tough foes for a team that won what 2 or 3 games in '07? ND will still have dumbass Weis on the sideline, I suspect another woeful offense with probably no meaningful rushing game. Defense? Wasn't much of one last season.

ND will be fortunate to win 6 of those games IMHO.

Weis needs to find ways to cheat and tape opponents in walk throughs and practices. I am sure he will try. That man cannot coach his way out of a bag it seems. An empty bag of donuts that he has already polished off. The only thing he can develop is his belly and man mammory glands.

What is amazing is that we caught and passed Nebraska. Had they stayed on the pace they were opn in the 90's they would still be third. I see ND improving to 7-8 wins this year which means 2009 before we catch them.

If my math is correct Michigan had won 36 games in total before we played our first game. If we had started when they did we would probably be ahead.

And you still are. But you are used to it, I am sure.

What is great about looking at all the old, really old games is seeing names of schools that don't even exist any longer. Schools that were good then, are off the map now. For those of you who have not done so, take a look back at the early 1900s for any school that was playing back then.

Be it UT or UT, anybody, it is interesting to see how few games they played and against who. Texas has a winning record v. most teams we have played. Go take a look at some we don't have one against. You will laugh.

Take a look at #90. It is not too long ago that Kansas State was the worst team in all of college football. One man made all the difference. People talk about his reliance on Jr. College players, etc.. but he had to do something. And something he did. To be there, from where they were is nothing short of amazing.
