Air Force - Tues 4/19 at 6:30pm; Wed 4/20 at 4:00 pm

10-10 in the 9th. Pitching staff gave up 9 runs with an 8-1 lead.

The pitching coach should be fired tonight....on the spot. This staff has completely collapsed.

Ok so we pull this one out 12-10. However we gave up 24 runs over 2 games to a sub-.500 team at home. Our pitching has really gone to shiite.

It is way past time to sit Faltine. His defense is slipping and his offense is horrendous. Surely we have someone on the team that can pretty good offense and hit for average. Faltine is a reliable K. Just get him to 3 strikes on him, then one on the outside corner and its a K. He is costing us way more at the plate than he helps us on defense.
From now on, before every game, post something negative about Faltine. It seemed to really do the trick. Faltine won us this game! What a monster walk off Homerun!

I didn’t think the move at pitching coach was a good idea but was willing to see how it turned out. I’m also gravely concerned about next years pitching staff, it look’s abysmal and that’s unacceptable at UT. I mean I expect a drop off from one year to the next but next year looks like a competely wasted year.

I still believe this team will find the heart to battle all the way to Omaha. But if they don’t, pierce should be fired. No excuses.

It’s almost impossible to have pitching this bad at a school like Texas.

The Baylor series should tell us a lot about where we're going late season, and post-season.

Ivan and Kennedy are both back from injuries, so our bats are at full power. Gordon has been steady. It seems that if Pete is on for a given series, Tristan is off, and vice-versa. If both Pete and Tristan can bring their A-game to the same series, we're looking good.

As for the comedy show that is our mid-week "starters", I'm not sure how that gets resolved. Coaches have given most of the likely candidates chances to emerge as the #4 starter, and nobody seems to be capable of grabbing that ring.

On a positive note, a few of our young "development" guys in the pen are now showing some development, namely Stewart and LBJ. If those two can get up to something approaching the quality middle reliever level by the playoffs, that would be really good.

Not trying to be an ***, but did the last 29 games not show you enough? 29 games isn't a "tough stretch" it's almost 75% of the season so far. I don't know why we can't pitch anymore, but that's what wins in the post season.

If I'm wrong I'll admit it, but I don't think this team hosts a regional and I'm not sure we can win anything on the road. I keep hearing on the radio that we need to start sweeping series and I just hope we win the next game. This program is a jumbled mess and I just heard Pierce live on radio saying it does no good to yell at the team. He better do something quickly or this season is toast and could be listed as the most disappointing year in Longhorn baseball history considering how loaded we are.

We'll see. We sit 6-6 in conference. The Baylor series will tip us one way, or the other.

Other than Tennessee, nobody is standing above the crowd this year. OSU is rated #3!

You're right, we have Bailor, OSU, WVU and Kansas left. The pressure to win the Bailor series is through the roof. Go 1-2 in that series and we're toast. I thought Kansas would be an easy sweep until we lost the KSU series.

Faltine-bringing it. When we focus we are good.
Everyone needs to chill, and see where the chips fall. College baseball is all over the place-good teams get beat a lot. Okie state got swept by Gonzaga, and got beat by Oral Tuesday.Tech got beat by New Mex and lost 5 straight. No team out there is that dominant except Tenn and we beat them. They also may slump come tournament -see pigs 2021

This team is a tournament team. As long as we get in…I see us winning the regional and maybe even a super regional. If we get to Omaha, then anything can happen.
Lots of baseball to be played. The Baylor, State, WV, -I’d be ok with 5-4. Prefer 6-3.

In my opinion, the loss to Air Force following a series loss to Kansas State was a blow, but not a fatal one--yet. They really need to sweep Baylor to stay in contention for hosting a regional. There are some good quality win opportunities ahead (OSU & WVU) to help with RPI, if they can get them. I do not despair - anything really can happen in college baseball. I think it was the 2014 team that had to win the conference tournament to even get in the playoffs and ended up winning three games in Omaha.
