Agiye Arrested

Interesting situation. Much we don’t know. Here’s what we do know…I think:

There was an incident and Hall removed a boot placed by the police on his car for a parking violation.

The police can be over zealous, and there have been “Driving While Black” incidents involving other Texas players over the years. Seems like Ricky was involved in one. (I tend to agree with SabreHorn’s assessment above.)

Hall had issues at Alabama and was jettisoned.

Hall has been suspended by Sark.

Beyond that, it’s all speculation, which is what we do on this board. So here goes. I’m guessing that when Sark agreed to take in this player, it was made clear that there would be a short leash. So with this incident, given the history at Alabama, I am speculating that Sark felt that he couldn’t take a chance on Hall any longer for fear of disrupting the developing culture on the team. He (Sark) needs to get it right this year because a poor 22 campaign could be the beginning of the end for him, or it could be a springboard to “happy times are here again.”

I feel sorry for Hall but there may not be any reason for me to have that sentiment. I just don’t know. What I do know is it Saban has bragged about his history of giving some offending players second chances and how that is worked out extremely well for some of those individuals.

Smash and grab, aggravated assault, public intoxication and drug use, riots with destruction of property, people sleeping on streets and under bridges with public defecation and so many other violations, and all going unpunished. And now we have a new crime against humanity, the removal of a wheel lock.We have finally gone too far.

Everyone agrees removing boots is egregious.

On 1300 yesterday afternoon Rod dug up a conversation Sark had about this guy some time ago that he had already been in meetings with the player council out and that the coaches were getting worn out by him already. Basically saying he wasn't fitting into the new culture Sark, the coaches and council were trying to instill. Seems like this may have been the last straw for him. We'll see how this plays out.

Insert obligatory Well…bye meme <here>

Chop,

Reminds me of Kix Brooks appearance on Jay Leno after he had been inducted into the Louisiana Tech Hall of Honor. He said he was walking around the room with the photos of all the previous inductees and thought, "I am easily the dumbest guy ever inducted. Then I turned and saw the picture of Terry Bradshaw".

Agiye stated one of the reasons he wanted to come here was that UT was more like a family and he felt they would stick by you and support you.
I don't know what happened ....and he has kind of made his own bed it seems...but I wish him the best and hope, if there is a chance for rehabilitation of character (if needed), that it occurs and he fulfills his true potential here..if not then elsewhere.
Ill wait for more details in the meantime.

i lived with 2 guys who were. and another getting his PhD in EE.

me: my mama always said life was like a box of chocolates
My nephew was Plan II. Had a perfect SAT score - got a full ride too from the Texas Exes. Obviously he inherited it from me.

I had to Google Plan II.
I highly doubt anyone on this forum was Plan II

“The Plan II Honors Program is designed to provide a broad, liberal, and challenging education for a limited number of students whose high school class standing and admission test scores indicate strong academic potential and motivation.”

It’s the motivation that I feel is the disqualifier .

On this, I'd trust Sarkisian's action. He has a fair relationship with Saban so he knew full well what the kid is all about. The kid knew his limits here and (might have) crossed a line
