Aggie track....impressive...

Pat Henry has proven once again he knows track. He built an empire at LSU and he is building and even bigger one at ATM.

National championships are hard to come by, but they are sure making it easy.

I think Texas has officially passed them the torch just like the womens tennis team did with Baylor.

Hope UT can turn it around or my next 30 years will be a living hell..

Torch passing to our conference rivals has become commonplace the past few years. Really disappointing.

This is the most disappointing NCAA championship in a very long time. Every team did not do well and there was bad officiating. Ags were handed the trophy this yr thanks to florida's huge flop, lsu huge flop, and Oregon and fsu had a ton of mistakes. Congrats to ags for making less mistakes but if u follow track, u'll know this was least impressive outdoor season in a loooooong time

I don't see ags repeating next yr

Calling it like i see it. I would be lieing otherwise. Im sure texags folks would say the same thing if another team won...

If i were fsu or uf in men's or lsu or Oregon in women's, I'd be hugely dissappointed as it was really their yr to win.

As a follower of track, it was your typical year for the most part. Projections are great but they usually go to shot once the meet starts.

And what the hell does TexAgs have to do with this?

Honestly Longhorn, your reply did read lame or like sour grapes. Maybe you didn't mean it like that, but FireRC gets to celebrate. Lets face it (and until we do we will stay in the doldrums) Aggie has the goods and we are sucking wind. Two decades seems long enough for Bubba. His old TCU job may still be open.

We have the network, but Aggie seems to have the content.

Aggies get to celebrate no doubt. I'm not knocking on the national champs.... The comment about a weak championship has more to do with not a good showing by other teams, but aggies prevailed as champs. It's like the big dance, some tourney are better than others.... But as a longhorns forum, it'd be great to see the same support that some of the messages seem to be for "other teams". I kind of see the same type if message that is conveyed from some certain posters....

Another reason ags are doing well in track is because the team and coaching staff are well received and supported. As u can see from RC... That actually does mean something to the team

they've won three in a row. give them credit. seriously. poor showings by the other teams . . .??? i don't get that. way to go ags. damn impressive.

Now, wait a minute!!! Texas did good! They don't have the depth and athletes that ATM has right now, but a 12th and 8th finish in the nation is not terrible.

I just don't understand how ATM was or is able to keep all these great athletes for 4years! When Bev used to land the great athletes, they would turn pro after a few years!!!! That doesn't happen at ATM.

Maybe this same philosophy goes with our mens basketball team. We land superstars then they leave and the team is left with nothing. We should get athletes who are good enough to train for four years and we can win championships!!!

Different philosophy's. aggy recruits for team championships and Texas recruits for individual recognition (unfortunately the same can be said for basketball with the one-and-dones). Also, aggy's T&F facilities are far and away better than Texas'.

And yes Texas' results were total rubbish (same comment as last year). If the objective isn't to win team championships, the sport should be dropped so the funds can be spent on the sports who recognize that intercollegiate athletics are team first, individual second.

I noticed a lot of the Sports programs for Texas drop off at the end of the season, when it is important to be on your game. Is it Conditioning or Coaching

Don't think it is conditioning. I believe it is a combination of the coaches inability to get the teams to peak at season end and something in the Texas mystique where players impose so much pressure on themselves, they don't play to potential.

Failure to finish was particularly noticeable in Volleyball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Football, Softball, and Track and Field.

Wish I knew how to fix the problem, but even if I knew, Texas Sports Administration doesn't want to talk about it. Softball in the tank two years in a row in the Regionals at home when highly seeded and ranked.? ":We're working on it."

Not hard enough in my opinion. VB was destroyed in three sets by Penn State in the final 4. We weren't remotely competitive. Up 2-0 vs Stanford three years ago only to lose in five. Up 2-0 vs Penn State two years ago only to lose in five. Blown out 0-3 vs Penn State in the last final four. Find a way to FINISH Texas!!

Pretty tough to knock a team that achieves final 4 or NC game. Far too many of the other minor sports are just not elite and that is coaching (which includes recruiting). Texas just does not have the best coaches and the AD waits too long to figure it out and then waits a few more years before acting on the knowledge.

Mediocrity should not be accepted at Texas.
