Aggie jealousy

I wasn't ever very interested in looking at aggie forums until this baseball season and until I saw their site mentioned here. Now that I have looked at it some, I am truely amazed. I guess what is particularly noteworthy there is the jealousy they have for our program. Lordy, they are consumed by it. The rationalization for not being more successful themselves is almost comical. I can only hope that those are kids posting, and that the more mature posters there are a tad more intelligent.

They are a pretty amazing group though, those aggies. A new neighbor here in Seguin had an aggie sticker on the back of his truck, so one day, being friendly, I said something to him like "you are an aggie, huh?". Right back at me, he said "that's a fightn Texas Aggie". I told him that my middle son had graduated from A&M in '92, and that I had never heard him refer to himself as a fightn texas aggie.

Anyhow, reading their threads on us going to the CWS is very enlightening. Again, a unique bunch.
 
It's funny because the one guy who made the biggest deal about Dave Yeast in our series is still claiming that A&M swept us and that we would have been a 2-seed in someone else's regional if not for Yeast. He also blames Yeast for A&M getting swept by Oklahoma the next weekend and then failing to advance out of regionals. Says the team's confidence was shattered by Yeast. What a load.

Another guy says we are by far the worst team headed to Omaha and that he would not be surprised if we lose both of our first 2 games by 5+ runs. On any other board, I'd think he was a troll because of how outlandish his comments are. But Aggy is really that delusional.

The rest of their comments center on them being clearly better than us (despite the fact that we won the series against them, the Big 12 regular season title, the conference tournament championship, won our regional and super regional, and made it to Omaha, all things they failed to do), or the fact that we had an easy path to Omaha and struggled through it. Pretty standard garbage for them.
 
everything PY (post-Yeast) doesnt count. After the players realized that the fix was in, its was hard to get tge players to want to show up any more!

This was yet another reason I moved back to Austin from Dallas.

Austin is the only city where the aggy bs is completely overwhelmed in the media, the population, the bumper stickers - here it is all and only all about the horns.

Do yourself a huge favor, get back to Austin as fast as you can.

Their vaunted pre-season #1 baseball powerhouse barely beat out Weber State for third place in a four-team regional, and they are still complaining about some umpire's possible bad call? Wow, there's nothing like aggy for great comedy.
 
OMG! Everyone should read that thread. What a bunch of losers, conspiracy theorists, penis envy dorks, woe-is-me victimized geeks, alternate universe living alien lifeforms.
It's the CWS wanting Texas, because UT has fans that spend money, it's Yeast the personal umpire of UT, it's the schedule, it's the mental anguish of losing to Texas on bad calls that doomed the great #1 College Station juggernaut, it's Augie the dirty coach (???), or there's many more vapid, braindead excuses, too many to list. You must look for yourself, but be forewarned, rib damage could be caused by laughing uproariously at the thread.

There's no such thing as a "Texas Aggie," any more than there are Texas Red Raiders or Texas Horned Frogs. They are Texas A&M Aggies. They are not the State's namesake school, and they need to deal with it.
 
It is hard for them to be a university of the second class. I wonder why they would want their kids to be so burdened too?

Here's the latest and I am feeling a little guilty about heading up to Omaha now that I ponder. Was wondering what that feeling was - guilt. Damn you, Yeast!

Yeah, one of the aggy pointed out all the 'whorns' lurking on THEIR board on that brilliant thread and one of ours told them that 'yes, we were all over here on your thread because it is cross-posted all over the Longhorn Boards and we are all enjoying the HELL out of it". Or something roughly approximating that.

I don't get what Aggy's deal is. It's a good school--a damn good school, even. It's probably the fourth best school in the state, behind Rice, Trinity, and UT. And it's not like the gap is that large. What's with the massive penis envy?

I realize our athletic program is better than theirs, but so what? Our athletic program is better than any school's in this state, but most of them aren't constantly ranting and raving about how "lucky" UT is, how UT doesn't deserve anything, etc. etc.
 
The final post in that thread (as of 5:20 am June 11 2009) is complete genius. The poster suggests that the only reason we won the MNC in 05/06 was because the media and the refs wanted us to win.

Yep. The media definitely favored Texas over USC in that Rose Bowl. ESPN, for example, spent about an entire month talking about how Texas was probably the best football team of all time. That's to say nothing about the media and umps carrying us to baseball championships prior to ... well, whenever we won our one and only legitimate hardball trophy.

I can't think of anyone else so obsessed over another institution, person, or team.
Olbermann with O'Reilly doesn't even come close to aggy.

Even if Texas were to disappear, who would they then blame for their suckage?

They would still be in the Big 12 South gutter. Somebody please splain it to me.
