Afternoon lineup changes on 1300 The Zone

Well, it looks like the new zone lineup is

2-4 Craig Way and AJ Hoffman - not sure how THAT pairing will go
4-6 Jon Madani and Cedric Golden (sports column writer from AAS)
6-7 Jon Madani and Ahrmad Brooks (sorry about the spelling)

Jon said this afternoon they would get back to talking SPORTS and the part of the Madani/Golden show I heard on the way home was good, at least they talked sports!

Now, if they would just do something about the horrible Bucky & Bob disaster. I really would prefer to listen to SPORTS on the way to work - and unfortunately, if 1530 put up the new tower, it didn't help any on my route to work - the station is still mostly static.....

Brooks turned down 1530 morning show (to be with Hogan) and I wonder if in part b/c he is on the Longhorn SportsCenter and their relationship with 1300.

I started like Hoffman actually. Way needs someone to help him do the show and it looks like for a while it will be Hoffman.

The problem with Golden is I bet he starts off strong like Chip Brown but after a while they have too many other duties (DMN, AAS) and those are likely priority 1 for them. We'll see how it goes.

Madani is part of the original Zone team and I liked him when he was on. Welcome back Jon. I have nothing against Bob Cole, but I miss the Buck on Sports with B&E. Get E. Hogan back. ASAP.

I see nothing to even begin to tempt me to stop listening to the far superior 1530. Nice to see that station is trying now, somewhat. Is it too little too late? I will have to read about it here.

Damn, AJ on with Craig? They just don't seem like a good match to me. Are they trying to lose their demo? 1300 seems to be getting older, and pushing out the younger talent. AJ was great in the 4-7 slot, I can't say I liked the guys yesterday... sorry 1300, but there go my reasons for turning the station from 1530.

I listened to the 1300 afternoon show yesterday and I just couldn't get into it.

1300's management seems like the owner of the Cleveland Indians in the movie Major League who fills a roster of what she thinks is the shittiest talent so the team will tank. I don't see 1300's story turning out as good as the Indians in that movie.

Madani's OK. The thing that they have going for them is that Ketch has no business being anywhere near a microphone. Personally, the afternoon sports shows just ensure that I stick with Jeff Ward through the incessant commercial/news/traffic/weather updates.

So if 1300 is planning some changes, will they have anything to do with returning the station to something resembling sports talk on the air? Because that is something that might be well-received, after a few years or so.

Something was up with 1530 this morning (played ads continuously for awhile) so I switched over to 1300. I listened to Bob Cole talk about illegal immigration for a few minutes, and then went to the CD's.

Why on earth did they go away from sports in the morning, while keeping Bucky on board?

I listened to Craig and AJ yesterday afternoon and it wasn't half-bad.
And what was happening with 1530 this morning? It was all commercials for my commute from 7:20-7:45. I assume something went wrong in the studio and they had to fill the air somehow.

I can't listen to either station anymore. It's xm all the time now. I tried espn the other afternoon and the guys sounded like they were shouting the whole time. It seemed like they were worried that they wouldn't be able to get their point across without speaking forcefully. Chad did his nude bar bit and I had to change it.
