Then where would we go?
LOL. If I were the G5 schools, I would start studying revenues for a separate post-season playoff.

Wouldn't each playoff team receive money for each game and that revenue could help pay traveling expenses?Anybody remember the "Runnerup Bowl"? The NFL created it for the something to fit in the week before the Super Bowl. IIRC, that game was Bobby Layne's last game in the NFL.
The only way to expand the "playoffs" is to expand the $$$. There are certain teams that will travel and most of those are in the SEC, but even then the have do, the havenots not so much. There is a cash cow now, aka the bowl system & ESPN. It is on the verge of bleeding red ink. When ******** schools like UConn whine and cry, then lose $3+ million on going to the Fiesta Bowl, you can see the problem of the "city schools" that have NO following, or even schools with no following like the convicts, having a huge playoff with the expenses is not fiscally responsible. Leave the playoffs to the people that will support the system until people like Syr-excuse, Pitt, UMd, UVA, FSU, et al, either get a following or get out.
