A tough time...

I need prayer for direction and peace. I recently broke up with a girlfriend. I had purchased an engagement ring and we were to be engaged last month. It did not work out and after 2 3/4 yrs we are apart. I am hurting tremendously. The interesting thing is that I know God is using this to draw me closer to him. I have been running from God for 7 yrs. I have made many poor decisions and have settled for short term satisfaction over a lasting relationship with Him and His will. I fear losing my life, my friends, and my world as I know it by finally surrendering. Please pray for me. I feel Him saying, "Just trust me and you'll find more peace and more happiness than you can comprehend", but I am very afraid. It's a scary crossroad right now. Thank you for your prayers.

There are so many young people out there that are going through what you are. Just have faith and I promise you, your days will be brighter. God is there for you, just hold on. Join a young life group at church (you don't have to be a member). You will meet people who have been in your shoes. I know someone who is going through the EXACT SAME THING. It is a very difficult, but God gives us these "challenges" for a reason. Accept the challenge with courage and confidence and you will begin to see a difference. It takes time to heal all sadness. If you two were meant to be, then it will, if not, there is definitely something better that God has for you. Never give UP!

God is faithful and already knows where you're going. Place your trust in him and find peace. Release your anxieties to Him.

MT 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

While you're huting now, know that God will lift you up stronger than you have ever been.

I have a very good friend who has been going thru a similar situation as yours and he tells me how life totally sucks right now, but, he, too, knows that God has a plan and the plan sometimes makes no sense to us...but his faith and his friends are helping him thru this crappy time of his life. My prayers are with you that you keep going and don't give up.
