A Liberty Based Political System

I think to truly own your property the tax on it must be abolished. Taxation if it is going to exist needs to be tied to some kind of behavior. Many of the things that property tax pays for should be privatized anyway.

If you don't really know if they are a criminal or not it violates their rights. Now you can make a practical argument that it is okay to violate a suspects rights based on situational context. This is theory and it is logical. But it isn't always practical.

That "other means "should be used to prevent the accused from committing other crimes.

That may be difficult in some instances and very simple in others.

But the fundamental question is, is a suspect a criminal or not? Is it innocent until proven guilty or not? In order to violate the rights of a non-criminal, innocent person someone else will have to bring a better argument to justify the action. You could bring evidence and testimony before trial to put the suspect in a gray area. Still, the police saying "we arrested the guy" isn't justification to infringe on rights.

The modern state abandoned the concept of "let the punishment fit the crime" in the Enlightenment. We are currently in the actual Dark Age.
