A difference between Sark & Herman

The play that I miss the most is cornerstone of the GD east-west offense - the patented swing pass for minus 2 yards on 3 and 12.

Opening 3 plays of the 2010 Oklahoma game.
1st & 10: wide pass to Kirkendoll for -2 yards
2nd & 12: wide pass to Kirkendoll for -2 yards
3rd & 14: quick hitch to the TE for 4 yards
4th & 10: punt

OU smelled blood and knew from the outset they would be the aggressors (even though we'd won 4 of 5 vs them at this point). Set the tone for an early 14-0 deficit we never recovered from.

Reminds me of the play during the Ark game where JWhit caught the pass from Card on a third and 10, 6-7 yards deep. They showed Sark immediately after on side lines and you could easily read his lips saying, “what was he thinking” to one of his assistants. Of course I don’t know if he was referring to Card or Whittington but I have my opinion.

It looked to me like he was saying, "What are they thinking on Hornfans?"

I used to yell and scream at Herman because we would go hurry up offense, but Herman would substitute, giving the defense 20-30 seconds to rest and substitute. What is the purpose of "hurry up" if you give the defense nearly a minute to substitute?

It appears to me that Sark will go hurry up with no changes, thus not allowing the defense to substitute.

Small thing perhaps, but I like it. :hookem2:
yeah, but I miss MENSA....

No matter the lead or the opponent, almost no win was safe. Herman had about 15 ways of letting even the most sub par opponent back into games and making them far closer then needed or loosing games that should’ve been in the bag. We’d often stall in the 3rd Q or close to halftime and there would be this feeling of dread and unease. Haven’t felt that once in any wins this season.

Yep. The 5 yard button hook/comeback pass on 3rd and 10 is another old favorite...

The nightmares continue...

1) Sark actually fixes training
2) corrections, if needed, are made at halftime
3) sark is mature
4) not afraid to play freshman
5) made a QB change like a grownup

I started out thinking I would agree with No. 1. Then I realized that all 5 were right. Good Job Texex81.

Other differences:

One is humble. One is a jerk.
One is tall. One is short.
One is mature. One a baby.
One thinks he coaches offense. One actually does.

So far with the exception of wishing Sark would have changed qb sooner in the Arkansas game, I am happy with out new coach.

I'm still not sold on #2 because of the piggy game. I don't know if arky put something in the water in the visitors locker room but I didn't notice much adjustment. I will say the other 4 more than make up for everything else. And in looking at #2 it's still 75% or more.
