A bar graph of LOST plot lines

That happened last season actually, and a great example of how this show works. A totally random action that makes absolutely no sense until you find out that Locke met him before that time. That also showed that Richard didn't totally understand time travel either - he thought Locke might recognize those items, and when he missed one of them, he thought that invalidated Locke's story.

But there is a difference with Aaron's situation because presumably, this trip back is to correct a misdirection in time. That implies to me the idea of getting back on track - so maybe putting Aaron on the island now messes that up.

"Ben replies, "who cares," you are reminded of his obesession and evil."

Or, Ben knows only the islanders will be affected and none of the other passengers will be harmed. Only time will tell.

Austin I thought that exact same thing, and it would absolutely fit with the pattern of things being parallel on the return trip.

In line with that, I loved that Sayid was hauled onto the plane in cuffs by a federal marshal. Hurley's carrying a guitar - which makes me wonder if Charlie talked to him before the flight and convinced him to go. I'm sure there were probably other parallels.
