I have a 99 year old great-grandmother. This woman acts as like she is 30 years younger. She lives in an apartment with my aunt. She cooks for herself. She cleans for herself. She dresses herself, and does basically all the things that an old person could do for themseves, besides drive. Oh, did I mention that she also reads the business section of the New York Times every day. She watches Larry King Live religiously, and can think as well as most people you know.
Her name is Lilly and was born in Russia in 1903. She moved to New York a few years later, and lived there until about 1980. She has had no health problems other than normal prolbems for old people.
Anyways, last week, she had bronkitis (sp). She went to a doctor and got a chest X-Ray. The doctor said she has something the size of an egg inside of her lungs. My great-grandmother, who has never smoked a ciggarette in her life, was diagnosed with lung cancer.
The person that i thought would never die has a terminal disease. There is no way she can beat it, she cant take treatment because she is too old to. She is goiing to the doctor tomorrow for some tests, but it is really to find out how long she has to live.
I would apreciate if you put her in your prayers, a woman who would never do anything bad to anyone, a woman that I always thought would never die ( after the age 90, you think that).
I dont know if it appropriate for me to say this, but whatever, Dont pray for her to beat it b/c she wont. Pkease pray that she will live to 100 ( which is my goal on Sept. 24, '03), and doesnt suffer any pain on her terminable disease, and will still be able to read the business section of the times every day for the rest of her life.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Also, I appologize for any speeling errors. It aint a big deal.
May the spirit of God be with her.
