As to the Dallas OL of that day, I compare them to the Patriots of today. They were a bunch of solid, not necessarily outstanding, OL that played outstanding as a unit. Larry Allen being the only HOF'er of the group sounds about right.
Ray Donaldson only played 2 years in Dallas although he went to the pro bowl both years. His other 4 trips to Hawaii were earned with the Colts. Nate Newton made 6 pro bowls and was all pro twice.
I went back & added Newton. Can't believe I forgot about him.
You're right on Donaldson, but I intentionally put how many total Pro Bowls to show his overall talent. I didn't want people to think that he had only gone to 2 pro Bowls period.
Since the thread is ostensibly about the Oline, it should be pointed out that in the 2nd SB vs. the Bills, the line came out in the 2nd half and told the the Bills defense the play they were about to run. Emmitt ran gashes of yards anyway. Reflects well on the line.
Kudos to Barry for pussing out without the Favreacious level of self-indulgent douchebaggery.
