90% chance...

One of my close friends scheduled his wedding on the 27th since it was an off weekend for the Horns and Texans were on the road. I guess I'll have to miss the wedding to watch the Horns and Hogs. I send a nice gift in my place.

Now THAT'S what I like to hear ..... ACL over the Horns?? NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!!

That's freaking great. I have a ticket to go with Ms. Accurate to Delaware the next weekend. Maybe some gust of wind from Ike will make it up there and cancel the trip.

No Muse. No ACL. Texas home game? No ACL.

We sat in the Time Warner tent for nearly 4 hours last year trying to watch the stupid UCF game while about 5,000 other people tried to cram into the tent.

postponing the game will have about:

10% to do with the weather

80% to do with the logistics of asking a team and fans to travel to a city that will likely be bloated with storm evacuees

10% to do with PR problems relating to the item directly above

they aren't going to postpone the game based on the chance of wind and rain. they're going to postpone it because it's the safest course of action. asking a team and thousands of fans to travel INTO a storm like this is not only bad PR, it's just stupid. the fact that both schools have an open date in 2 weeks makes the decision all the easier.

You have got to be kidding me with that statement! this is football. We are not going to watch a dog show or something like that indoors. If you have a woman that is going to be bothered by bad weather, then dont take them. GEEZ!

Irony alert: Remember in '05 when Rita threatened just before ACL Festival weekend? They decided to go on with the show, Rita turned to the north, and it was one of the hottest weekends on record.

I agree the final decision will have more to do with evacuees, clogged highways & lack of hotels than with weather at game time. DeLoss will probably punt and reschedule it for Sept. 27, though that's a mistake IMO.

Great. I made plans with my wife for a B&B stay on the 27th to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I suppose if I want to make it another year, I'm gonna have to miss the game.

Say . . .

Where did the 90% figure come from? Why not 50%? Or 75%? Or just go ahead and postpone?

There is a 10% chance of winds higher than 25mph on Saturday afternoon and heavy rain. Or is it 20%?

Tell you what: any of you that would rather go to ACL than the Texas game (if it's rescheduled), PM me - I'll buy your tickets to the game.

I got a couple of Southwest free flights I'm itching to use.

Just read onThe Link that there is an 80% chance of rain in Austin on Saturday...so there is a greater chance of the game being cancelled than rain?
