5 Illegals for 1 Marine

Never considered that angle
This is based on BO freeing 5 top Taliban leaders for one sorry deserter.
BO must have thought he could spike another football over this and take some heat off him for the way the VA is being run.

We are releasing illegals anyway why not make a deal with the Mexican gov't to get that Marine bake

Obama once again breaks the law by not consulting congress. However, he did consult with the UN.

The newly released U.S. Army traitor should face a firing squad asap. Send his dad to live with the Taliban.

I see why he was so valuable to Obama, Berghahl reportedly hated the US too. He actually cost US lives when he deserted his post and his fellow soldiers went out looking for him.

Well this is great news. Some of MSM is actually covering the desertion and asking if a court martial willhappen.
A shock but great news.

As more people learn about this deserter( alleged) and resumes of the 5 Taliban BO set free it will be hard for BO to use this as a dodge away from how the VA is treating our real honorable Vets.

Hopefully, we inserted some sort of tracking chip in these five terrorists so we can "drone" them and those around them at a future date?
Otherwise, our President has reached a new low.

Two things he said this morning that were pretty incredible (paraphrasing):

"Is there a chance that these prisoners could continue to engage in acts against the U.S.? That's been the case of ALL the prisoners we've released from Guantanamo Bay. But this is what happens at the end of a war."

One might of course argue that was the whole point of keeping them IN Guantanamo Bay. But leaving that aside... we're at the end of a war??? Is he really staying with that whole "Al Qayda is on the run" mantra? Does he not get that at the end of wars, the reason prisoners are released is because there has been a cease fire and a peace treaty agreeing that hostilities are ended?

"Whatever those circumstances may turn out to be, we still get an American soldier back if he's held in captivity. Period. Full stop,"

So basically, whatever the circumstances, whatever we have to give up, our main priority is now to get captured soldiers back? Boy, that won't increase the motivation to hold American soldiers as hostage, will it???

This whole thing has just been bizarre.

I'm sure the POWs from Viet Nam are strongly behind this.

Since when have we ever negotiated with terrorists for a POW? Using the "we leave no man behind" as an excuse is incorrect. That is the Marine motto for leaving a dead Marine behind.

I pretty much made my opinion when I first read that when the bigwig made the announcement to a huge group of military men in some giant hangar, they said you could have heard a pin drop. Not even a golf clap.

The so-called reason? The military didn't want to make an emotional scene in front of all the big wigs.

This whole think is vomit worthy. The guy made his choice, his emails made it very obvious he was and is a traitor and left his unit willingly.

7 men died hunting for him. Who knows what future ramifications this will have. This man needs to be in the brig, answering questions, and then, if what his fellow soldiers say is true, shot for treason.

Instead, so far the media has been more worried about his assimilation back in to the US.

This stinks to high heaven.

Making that trade makes as much sense as telling you I'll give you my electric bill if you give me $500. The dumbest and worst President ever. You name the category and he's #1 on the list as the worst.

The first rule of terrorist club is that you don't negotiate with terrorists. Aside from that, what really concerns me is that the five released have been described as "the worst of the worst" at Guantanamo.

What do they expect them to do when they get back to Afghanistan, hang up their explosives and open a snow-cone stand? Now that I think about it, that probably would go over big there. Business would be booming. Literally.

Another thing that surprised me is that the marine was promoted twice in captivity even though it was highly probably that he had deserted, or at the very least gone AWOL - something even the administration now appears to be admitting was the case.

I agree with Prodigal, very bizarre even by this President's standards.

Given the news I've heard by late Tue night.... this is more than troubling.

I agree, those 5 are now angels! And that Israel-Palestine negotiation has resulted in total peace and harmony!

You guys should seek news from other sources.
